A valve sealing arrangement is disclosed for use with a valve having a valve body, a control member arranged in a flow passage of the valve body, a rotary shaft arranged in a bore of the valve body configured to move the control member between closed and open positions, and a valve seat. The valve seat can include an anchor portion secured to the valve body that has an anchor section with a first sealing surface and a convolution section extending from the anchor section with at least one bend, a first seat portion with a second sealing surface contacting the control member that is moveable via the at least one bend of the convolution section, and a second seat portion extending from the first seat portion with a contact surface contacting a side wall of the flow passage.

A rotary valve includes a valve body defining an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid flow path connecting the inlet and the outlet, and a valve shaft is disposed in the valve body. A control element includes a first side, a second side, and defines a pivot axis. The control element operatively connected to the valve shaft, disposed in the fluid flow path, and is rotatable by the valve shaft about the pivot axis between an open position, in which the control element permits fluid flow between the inlet and the outlet, and a closed position, in which the control element limits flow between the inlet and the outlet of the valve body. A portion of the control element includes a lattice structure including a plurality of connected lattice members. The lattice structure defines one or more channels extending across the first side of the control element.

Methods, apparatus, and systems for valve trim apparatus for use with control valves are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a valve body including a fluid flow path between an inlet and an outlet. The example apparatus also includes valve trim positioned in the fluid flow path, the valve trim including first passageways that extend from the inlet to a first expansion cavity and second passageways that extend from the first expansion cavity to the outlet.

Valve trim apparatus for use with valves

A valve seat apparatus for use with fluid valves is described. An example disclosed valve seat apparatus includes a seat ring having an outer surface that includes a first annular recess at a first end of the seat ring, where the first annular recess is to receive a portion of a cage, a second annular recess proximate a second end of the seat ring opposite the first end, and where the second annular recess defines a groove in the outer surface of the seat ring, and a third annular recess adjacent the second annular recess. The example disclosed valve seat apparatus also includes a first seal assembly disposed in the third annular recess and a retainer disposed in the second annular recess to retain the seal assembly in the third annular recess.

Valve seat apparatus for use with fluid valves

A valve seat apparatus for use with fluid valves is described. An example valve seat apparatus includes a seat ring having an outer surface that includes a first annular recess and a second annular recess adjacent the first annular recess to form a stepped profile. A seal assembly is disposed within the first groove and a retainer is disposed in the second annular recess to retain the seal assembly in the first annular recess of the seat ring.

A three-piece fluid control valve configuration including a valve body, a ball control member and two tailpieces that connect the valve to a pipeline and also house the ball fluid seals. Respective bearing plates with trunnion bearings are guide pin mounted between the respective tailpieces and in supporting engagement with respective trunnions on the ball control member for rotatably supporting the ball. A shaft bearing supports a valve shaft having a splined drive end engaging splines in one of the ball trunnions. Bidirectional fluid flow is enabled with ball sealing members on each ball side, with the sealing member on each side replaceable by removing the tailpiece on that side.

Throttling control in a fluid control valve

A fluid seal for rotary valves wherein a metal seal ring is adapted to fit within a groove formed within the valve body and a retainer ring for sealing engagement with the sealing surface of a closure member. The metal seal ring has a non-symmetrical cross section with the retainer ring side portion including a shoulder engaging the retainer within the groove and a seating portion extending from the groove for sealing engagement with the closure member. A valve body side portion of the metal seal ring includes a shoulder engaging the valve body within the groove and a non-seating portion extending from the groove for a substantially non-sealing and non-engagement with the sealing surface of the closure member. Engagement of the closure member with the seating portion of the retainer side portion of the metal seal ring torsionally loads the cross-section of the seal ring so as to only enlarge the retainer side portion. A resilient material seal ring can be added to the metal seal ring for desired applications. If the resilient material ring is destroyed by high temperatures or fire, the seating portion of the metal seal ring continues to reliably engage the closure member. An elastomeric O-ring can be used on the metal seal ring on a side opposite to the resilient material ring.
