A clock generator includes a series of inverting stages; and at least one combinational logic stage. The series of inverting stages is tapped at two or more locations along the series of inverting stages to provide intermediary outputs. A combinational logic stage of the at least one combinational logic stage is coupled to receive two or more of the intermediary outputs and generate a clock signal. Multi-phase, multi-duty cycle, non-overlapping clock signals can be generated by the clock generator based on different combinations of intermediary outputs. The clock signals can be provided to a switching network.

A floating core network for secure isolation of a circuit from an external supply interface is described. Isolation of a core is accomplished through a dynamic current limiting network providing an isolated core voltage to the core; and an isolated supply for the corresponding core that is continuously recharged by the dynamic current limiting network. The dynamic current limiting network can include two control loops, one control loop providing a fixed gate voltage to a p-type transistor supplying current to the isolated supply and another control loop providing a fixed gate voltage to an n-type transistor sinking current from the isolated supply.

A differential attenuator and method for providing an attenuated differential output in which an AC common mode component has been reduced. The attenuator includes (a) a voltage divider with two resistive elements for providing the attenuated differential output and a common mode node between the two elements, and (b) a differential amplifier for generating a DC common mode reference which is substantially the same as the DC common mode component in the outputs of the differential amplifier. The differential amplifier has a common mode output connected to the common mode node to provide the DC common mode reference thereto so that the AC common mode component is reduced in the attenuated differential output.

Digitally programmable differential attenuator with tracking common mode

A method and apparatus are disclosed for providing programmable hysteresis to a differential comparator. Programmable hysteresis is accomplished by adding voltage followers to the input stage and a current steering network to the output stage of the comparator such that DC bias currents flowing in the current steering network are mirrored via current mirrors so as to flow through the voltage followers at the input stage. By adding a desired offset current to one of the two input voltage follower DC bias currents in dependence on the output state of the comparator in such a manner as to provide positive feedback, an offset voltage is generated due to the unequal voltage drops of the voltage followers resulting in hysteresis which can be controlled in real-time.
