A hingeless ventilator comprises a frame defining two openings surrounded by a seating rim, which is surrounded by a door recess. A pair of upright sleeves is disposed between the openings, and each upright sleeve defines an exterior track surface. A door is disposed to face the outer surface of the frame and has a main body configured to be selectively positionable to cover and uncover both of the openings and defines a lip surrounding the periphery thereof and extending generally perpendicularly to the main body. Two door struts connected to the door extend through the frame openings and hold a handle that has rollers that are biased against the exterior track surfaces of the sleeves.

Two-way hingeless ventilator

A two-way hingeless ventilator for ventilating an enclosure through a wall thereof has a frame defining an opening therethrough. A closure member is disposed against an outer side of the frame and is alternately swingable relative to the frame between open and closed positions at opposite sides of the opening. A tensioning rod is fixed on the frame and extends between opposite sides of the opening. An actuating member extends from an inner side of the closure member through the opening and intermediate ends of the tensioning rod. A positioning slot is defined in the actuating member through which the tensioning rod passes in a tensioned condition to apply a closing force to the closure member. The positioning slot has a central position defining a closed position of the cover member and opposite side slots extending away from the central position. The closure member is variably movable from the closed position to oppositely facing open positions by rotation or pivoting of the actuating member which causes the tensioning rod to variably engage along either of the side slots in its tensioned condition. An assist member is configured with the actuating member to add a mechanical advantage to the opening and closing operation.

Hingeless ventilator

A hingeless ventilator for ventilating an enclosure through a wall thereof, includes a frame, a cover, an actuating member, a handle secured to the actuating member, and a recessed chamber connected to the frame and defining a depth configured to contain the actuating member and the handle. The frame includes a border that defines an opening through the frame and a front and a back. The cover is selectively swingable relative to the frame between a closed position and open positions. The open positions place the cover intermediate the closed position and at least one of the front and back of the border that defines an opening through the frame.

A two-way hingeless ventilator for ventilating an enclosure through a wall thereof has a frame defining an opening therethrough. A closure member is disposed against an outer side of the frame and is alternately swingable relative to the frame between open and closed positions at opposite sides of the opening. A tensioning rod is fixed on the frame and extends between opposite sides of the opening. An actuating member extends from an inner side of the closure member through the opening and intermediate ends of the tensioning rod. A positioning slot is defined in the actuating member through which the tensioning rod passes in a tensioned condition to apply a closing force to the closure member. The positioning slot has a central position defining a closed position of the cover member and at least one opposite side slot extending away from the central position. The closure member is variably movable from the closed position to an open position by rotation or pivoting of the actuating member which causes the tensioning rod to variably engage along the side slot in its tensioned condition.

A two-way hingeless ventilator for ventilating an enclosure through a wall thereof has a frame defining an opening therethrough. A closure member is disposed against an outer side of the frame and is alternately swingable relative to the frame between open and closed positions at opposite sides of the opening. A tensioning rod is fixed on the frame and extends between opposite sides of the opening. An actuating member extends from an inner side of the closure member through the opening and intermediate ends of the tensioning rod. A positioning slot is defined in the actuating member through which the tensioning rod passes in a tensioned condition to apply a closing force to the closure member. The positioning slot has a central position defining a closed position of the cover member and opposite side slots extending away from the central position. The closure member is variably movable from the closed position to oppositely facing open positions by rotation or pivoting of the actuating member which causes the tensioning rod to variably engage along either of the side slots in its tensioned condition.

A remotely controlled powered hingeless ventilator has a cover configured on a frame on a side thereof opposite from a tension rod. The cover is variably positionable between a closed position and a fully open position relative to the frame. An actuating member connected to an underside of the cover extends through a slot in a plate member across the ventilation opening and includes an arcuate guide slot defined therein. The tension rod is disposed through this guide slot. A motor is mounted on the frame and is connectable to a power source. The motor includes a rotatable drive arm connected to the actuating member. The drive arm has a generally arcuate shape and is connected to the actuating member so that an opening and closing force is exerted by the drive arm to the actuating member along a line of force corresponding generally to an extension of the arcuate guide slot.

Powered hingeless ventilator

A hingeless ventilator is provided for ventilating a compartment and includes a frame for attaching about an opening in the wall of the compartment. A closure member is swingable against an outer side of the frame for opening and closing the opening. Guide members extend from the frame into the compartment and arm members extend from the closure member through the opening. A holding mechanism is configured with the arm members and guide members to supply a closing tensile force to the closure member. The closure member and the arm members are formed from a unitary plate with the arm members bent at essentially right angles to a base portion of the plate. The closure member includes a cover member, preferably formed of a plastic material, attached to the outer surface of the base portion.

A dispensing device is provided for rolled sheet material. The device includes a base member and oppositely facing arms hinged to the base member. The arms are movable between an open position and a folded position wherein the arms completely nest within the base member to form a flush surface with the base member. A dual acting biasing mechanism is provided to bias the arm members away from the base member in their folded position and to bias the arm members towards the base member in their open position.

Combined vehicle vent and escape hatch having a frame bounding a roof opening, a cover hingedly connected to opposite sides of the frame by hinge brackets for limited venting movement relative to one or more of the sides, one of the brackets being separable into cover and frame parts and normally prevented from separating by a cammable release rod engaging the cover part and a frame-backed movable stop plate backing the rod, and an emergency button instanding from the cover and when pushed operative to project the cover from all of said sides to full venting position and separate the parts of the separable bracket for enabling the cover, as an escape hatch, to be swung about the opposite bracket to open position. For extending the service life of the combined vent and hatch, an inner panel of the cover is backed by a rigid metal backup plate on which, for relieving the panel of stress, are hung the operating parts attached to the cover.

A hingeless ventilator having a frame attachable to a wall of a compartment about an aperture therein, an opening in the frame alignable with the aperture, a closure member swingable against a side of the frame for opening and closing the opening, guide members fixed to and instanding from an opposite side of the frame beyond opposite ends of the opening, and a spring rod mounting on opposite ends composite rollers riding on the guide members and connected under tension to the closure member for selectively positioning the closure member relative to the frame, the roller assemblies each having an antifriction bushing journalled on the spring rod and in and bonded to an elastomeric collar engaging an adjoining guide member.
