The disclosure provides a cooling system for a surgical ablation device, the device having a cooling circuit comprising a device coolant supply line having a supply coupling; a coolant return line having a return coupling; coolant passageways within the device to circulate coolant within the device, the supply line and the return line being in fluid communication via the device coolant passageway(s); a coolant manifold configured to fluidly connect a cooling fluid source to at least one manifold fluid outlet port, such as to place the cooling fluid source in fluid communication with the one or more device coolant passageways, wherein the supply coupling is configured for connection to a manifold outlet port of the manifold.

Cooling system for surgical device

A compression device is used to increase intra-luminal pressure within the upper esophageal sphincter of a patient in order relieve an impact of an abnormal or defective upper esophageal sphincter anatomy, physiology, or functionality. In one implementation, the compression device is used in conjunction with an external pressure sensing device to determine the external pressure that is to be applied to the cricoid for a specific patient. The compression device can be a means for the management and/or treatment of abnormal upper esophageal sphincter functionality, or a means for strengthening an esophageal sphincter of a subject, or a means for curing esophageal reflux disease of a subject, or a means for improving vocal function in a subject, or a means for managing lung aspiration, or a means for applying cricoid pressure during anesthesia intubation, or a means for stabilizing body structures such as during medical imaging or radiation treatment.

Compression device and pressure sensor for treatment of abnormal upper esophageal sphincter functionality

A device for captivating a variety of fasteners relative to a first member. A captivator includes a body adapted to be secured to the first member and a retainer received within the body and having a surface engaging a captured fastener. Together the body and retainer maintain the captivated fastener in place relative to the first member. A two-part base includes a snap base and base retainer together secured on a panel. The snap base may include one or more grooves for engaging one or more protrusions on the base retainer. In some embodiments a fastener retainer is not required as the base retainer functions to secure the fastener to the assembly.

Dispensing strip for needle assemblies

A suture assembly configured to load a suture instrument with suture includes a cap attached to an end of the suture, a suture container configured to retain a portion of the suture, and a cap retainer having a wall and a suture channel formed in the wall. The suture channel is configured to receive a length of the suture, and the wall is configured to deny passage of the cap into the suture channel and align the cap with the length of the suture for loading into the suture instrument.

Suture assembly and system

A suturing assembly is provided that is configured to pull a capsule attached to a suture through tissue. The suturing assembly includes a shaft aligned on a longitudinal axis of the suturing assembly, and a head coupled to the shaft. The head includes a proximal portion and a distal end spaced apart from the proximal portion by a throat. The proximal portion houses a needle that is movable through a needle exit port. The proximal portion of the head and the needle exit port are both aligned on the longitudinal axis. A proximal side of the distal end of the head defines a cavity adapted to receive the capsule and a distal side of the distal end of the head defines a slot adapted to allow the suture to pass through the distal end of the head and into the cavity.

Suturing system and assembly

A portable external device for a mechanical circulation support system includes first and second power sources, e.g. batteries and control electronics for redundant uninterrupted operation of an implantable blood pump. The control and power source module may be configured to accommodate a variety of wearable configurations for patient convenience and comfort.
