The invention relates to a plastic enclosure for enclosing industrial components. The enclosure comprises a case (), a lid (), and a latch device () for locking the lid to the case. The lid () has a grip means formed as a rigid lug () molded to be monolithic with the lid (), the lug comprising a throughhole () to which a hook portion () of a rocker () can grip. The lug () is arranged, in the closed position of the lid, to extend over and at a distance from the second wall () to be substantially in parallel with a wall of the case to limit an intermediate space between the wall () and the lug () when the lid is in the closed position. The hook portion () is arranged so that, in the release position (II) of the rocker (), it is turned inside the intermediate space away from the path of the lug () and, in the locking position (I) of the rocker, the hook portion is turned to protrude laterally outwards through the through-hole () of the lug () and to compress the sealing gasket () by pressing the sealing flange () against the sealing gasket () to create a spring force against which the hook portion holds the lug (). The output force of the hook portion () exerted to the lug () is amplified by a mechanical advantage provided by a lever effect of the rocker () when being turned to the locking position by an input force exerted to the handle arm ().

Plastic enclosure for enclosing industrial components

The invention relates to a plastic enclosure () for enclosing industrial components. The enclosure comprising a case () made of plastics. The case comprises a rectangular rear wall () and four side walls () delimiting an interior () having four corners () at the junctures of side walls. The rear wall and the side walls together form a monolithic unitary box-like container which has a mouth opening () at one side enabling access to the interior. Each corner comprises fastening means for fastening of one or more panels (P; P) inside the interior in parallel and at a desired distance relative to the rear wall. The fastening means comprises a pair of rib members () molded integrally as unitary monolithic structures with the side walls. The rib members extend along the side walls between the rear wall and the mouth opening. Each rib member comprises a plurality of equally spaced grooves () extending at right angle relative to the longitudinal direction of the rib member. The grooves () in the pair of the rib members () of each corner are arranged as pairs of grooves which are mutually aligned, mutually located at the same level and facing each other. A support block () made of plastics having at least one pair of tongues () is adapted to be inserted into the at least one pair of grooves () to form tongue-and-groove joints at the two sides of the support block for holding the support block when installed to the corner. The support block () has a fastening element () for fastening of the panel (P; P) to the support block.

An enclosure which has a lead-through for passing a rod-like element through a wall of the enclosure, and a grommet for sealing a rod-like element to a wall of an enclosure, the grommet having a passage for passing the rod-like element therealong through the grommet and the passage having its walls adapted to fit around the rod-like element. The grommet includes a first recess adapted to match at least a rim of a cutout in the enclosure; a second recess, adapted to receive a clamping element which is adapted to secure and seal the rod-like element to the grommet by applying a radial compression to the rod-like element; one split face, which establishes an openable route between the exterior of the grommet and the passage, the split face being provided with sealing elements for an axially directed and radially directed alignment and sealing of the split face.
