A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided to enable the provision of a mechanism by which a device participating in a collaborative application may synchronize with other participating devices. A method may include providing for operation of a collaboration application, providing for transmission of a multicast reference time request to a wireless access point, receiving a multicast reference time message, establishing a reference time in response to receiving the reference time message, and synchronizing the collaboration application using the reference time. The synchronization of the collaboration application may be performed in response to receiving an acknowledgement message from collaborating devices. The method may further include providing for transmission of a second multicast reference time request in response to not receiving an acknowledgement message from the collaborating devices. The multicast reference time message may be received from the wireless access point.

Method and apparatus for synchronization of devices

An approach for providing mashup service of component services is described. A mashup service platform determines one or more component services available to at least one device. The mashup service platform also determines at least one mashup service based, at least in part, on a combination of the one or more component services. The mashup service platform further cause, at least in part, a generation of at least one mashup agent for interfacing with the at least one mashup service, the one or more component services, or a combination thereof.

In a method for local discovery a request to make a search for at least one local service is received from at least one device. A search is performed by means of at least one service directory to discover the at least one local service. The invention relates to methods, apparatuses, systems and computer program products for discovery of nearby devices (). To facilitate discovery of nearby, i.e. proximal, devices, a discovery control signal () from a control device () may be used to control the discovery, e.g. how or when the discovery is carried out. The devices may send status information of their status to be used by the control device or the control system for forming the discovery control signal. The control device, e.g. a server, may form the discovery control signal based on this status information. Discovery of proximal devices may then be carried out based on the received discovery control signal.

Method and apparatus for distributing collaborative content

A method, apparatus, and computer program product are provided to enable the provision of a mechanism by which a device participating in a collaborative application may synchronize with other participating devices. A method may include providing for operation of a collaboration application, receiving a signal from a sensor, establishing a reference time in response to receiving the signal from the sensor, and synchronizing the collaboration application using the reference time. The sensor may include an accelerometer and the signal may include a sampling of information from the sensor. The sampling may be conducted during a pre-defined time interval or possibly until a bump is detected. Establishing the reference time may include detecting a maximum value of the signal and/or detecting the signal exceeding a pre-defined threshold. Establishing the reference time may not require wireless communication.

The present invention proposes a method for data element information management in a network environment, the network environment comprising a plurality of data element information entities (), each keeping a respective record of data element information for a plurality of subscribers, and a request routing entity (), adapted to route (, S) requests to a selected one of said plurality of database entities, the method comprising the steps of transmitting (S) a data element information update for a specific subscriber to said routing entity (), selecting, at said request routing entity (), one () of said plurality of database entities for said specific subscriber, forwarding (S) said data element information update to said selected database entity (), and relaying (S) said data element information update from said selected database entity () to another database entity () of said plurality of database entities. Data element information management in a network environment

The present invention proposes a method for enabling a subscriber entity to actively communicate in a communication network, a subscriber entity being identified by at least one assigned subscriber identity (IMSI, MSISDN), said communication network comprising at least one database entity of a first type () keeping a first record of data of subscriber entities enabled to actively communicate in a communication network, the method comprising the steps of: storing said at least one assigned subscriber identity of at least one subscriber entity not enabled to actively communicate in said communication network in a database entity () of a second type, informing (SS) said database entity () of said second type about a need to enable said at least one not enabled subscriber entity to actively communicate in said communication network, and, upon being informed, transferring (S) information related to a subscriber entity not enabled, from said database () of said second type to a selected one () of said at least one database entity of said first type (). Also, the present invention proposes an accordingly adapted database entity of the above mentioned second type and a register entity for interaction with said database entity of said second type.
