A high frequency surgical device for generating a high frequency voltage for cutting and/or vaporizing biological tissue within a flushing liquid, in particular a conductive flushing liquid, including two output contacts at which an electrosurgical instrument is connectable and between which the HF voltage is provided during operations; a parallel resonant circuit which is electrically connected with the output contacts and in which the HF voltage is generated during operations, and wherein the HF voltage is configured for igniting an electric arc within the flushing liquid at the electrosurgical instrument. In order to provide an electrosurgical device for applications under a flushing liquid, wherein the flushing liquid is heated less and wherein the electrosurgical device provides better initial cutting properties, it is provided according to the invention that a voltage limiter is arranged between the parallel resonant circuit and the output contacts.

High frequency surgical device and high frequency surgical system with a voltage limiter

The invention concerns a high frequency surgery apparatus for cutting and/or coagulating biological tissue and methods of operating same. The high frequency surgery apparatus includes at least one high frequency generator which in operation forms a high frequency circuit with the tissue to be treated, with the production of an arc, and at least one measuring and calculating device which is connected for signal transmission to the high frequency circuit and which is adapted in operation to ascertain both a DC voltage in the high frequency circuit and also the amplitudes of at least one even and at least one odd harmonic of a fundamental frequency of the high frequency generator and to form a first tissue parameter representative of the kind of tissue to be treated from the relationship of the sum of the amplitudes of the even and the odd harmonics to the DC voltage and to output a tissue signal dependent on the first tissue parameter for subsequent processing.

High frequency surgery apparatus and method of operating same

The invention relates to a high-frequency surgical device for generating high-frequency energy for cutting and/or coagulating biological tissue. The high-frequency surgical device comprises an application part being electrically connectable to an electrosurgical instrument having at least one activation switch, an intermediary power circuit galvanically separated from the application part, a DC power source which, in operation, provides in the application part at least one DC voltage, a with the DC voltage source electrically connected control signal generator which, in operation, generates in the application part () from the DC voltage an alternating control signal with a predetermined switching frequency, and a to the control signal generator electrically connected evaluation unit being electrically connectable to the activation switch of the instrument and which, when the activation switch is actuated, transmits a with the switching frequency oscillating activation signal to the input power circuit.

High-frequency surgical device

An electrosurgical instrument having a distal end and a gripping device which is arranged at the distal end in the longitudinal direction and which includes at least a clamping jaw portion and a coagulation jaw portion. The coagulation jaw portion has a plurality of electrically separated coagulation electrodes which are substantially immovable relative to each other. At least one of the jaw portions is movable from an open position into a closed clamping position, wherein the jaw portions at least portion-wise engage into each other in the clamping position and are of such a configuration that the tissue can be clamped between the jaw portions substantially in a half-wave shape. The coagulation jaw portion has at least two electrode arrangements which are arranged at different sides and have respective electrically separated coagulation electrodes, by means of which the tissue is coagulatable in two substantially mutually separated coagulation regions.

Electrosurgical instrument

The invention concerns a medical technology device for treatment of the human or animal body, comprising at least one electrical plug connector which is adapted to be connected to a complementary counterpart plug connector of a further medical technology device and which in an active position is arranged projecting upwardly at the top side of the device. To provide a medical technology device which can be used both as an individual device and also in conjunction with a second device as a device arrangement and which in that respect satisfies existing safety and aesthetic demands, it is provided in accordance with the invention that the plug connector is adapted to be movable from the active position into a passive position, wherein in the passive position the plug connector is removed from the top side of the device and the top side is closed in substantially fluid-tight relationship.

The invention concerns an HF-surgery device for cutting and/or coagulating biological tissue and a method for same, which in operation monitors the patient skin contact of a connected neutral electrode having at least two separate contact surfaces. The HF-surgery device includes at least one parallel resonant circuit arranged in a patient circuit, at least one measurement energy source arranged in a measurement circuit galvanically separated from the patient circuit for producing a measurement voltage/current acting between the contact surfaces of the neutral electrode, and at least one measuring and computing unit which in operation determines by means of the measurement voltage/current a tissue impedance which is representative of the patient skin contact and which acts between the contact surfaces. An HF-current flows in the patient circuit which is closed in the cutting or coagulation operation and the measurement voltage which is independent of the HF-current can be produced in the measurement circuit. To provide an improved HF-surgery device it is provided according to the invention that the frequency of the measurement voltage source is substantially equal to a resonance frequency of the parallel resonant circuit.

HF-surgery device and method for an HF-surgery device

A high frequency generator connected to an electrosurgical instrument comprising an electrical output terminal, a power source electrically connected to the output terminal, an arc detector, and a power control for controlling the electrical power delivered through the output terminal. The power control initially causes the delivery of a high output power for a phase for initial cutting support and thereafter, if ignition of an arc has occurred for a predetermined period of time to cause the delivery of reduced or no power and subsequently for a predetermined period of time to cause the delivery of reduced or no power at which no arc occurs, or if no ignition of an arc has occurred during the phase for initial cutting support, to cause the delivery of reduced or no power for a predetermined period of time of a short pause interval.
