A method for managing a data stream in a communication system. One or more user stations and switching and management infrastructure are configured with a function that maps packet data protocol addresses of data transmissions to defined service access point identifiers. A packet data context for data transmissions of a packet data service is created by associating a packet data protocol address with a service access point identifier used in an interface between one or more user stations and the switching and management structure. A function is used for determining independently in the one or more user stations or the switching and management infrastructure the service access point identifiers for data transmissions of the packet data service.

Managing data streams in communication system

A method in a communication system. The mobile station is provided with two or more separate subscriber modules having separate authentication identities. The modules are authenticated and a session key is established between these subscriber modules using the system as a trusted party. The invention improves the ability of the communication system to adjust to the varying operational conditions of the users, and user organizations.

Mobile station authentication in tetra networks

A radio system comprising a switching and management infrastructure arranged to deliver voice and data between a plurality of communicating parties, and a mobile station. Said radio system comprises a multiplicity of traffic channels, each traffic channel being associated with a unique coding scheme. The switching and management infrastructure is arranged to receive a plurality of paging messages from a plurality of communicating parties, and to combine the paging messages received during a pre-defined time period into a paging frame comprising a multiplicity of address data blocks for identifying the mobile station(s) for which the paging frame comprises a paging message. At least one of the traffic channels of the radio system is dedicated to delivery of downlink paging messages, and associated with a coding scheme that comprises at least one error protection algorithm. The mobile stations are arranged to receive data on said traffic channel, and to extract information addressed to them based on the address blocks of the paging frame.

Apparatus and method for delivering paging messages

A method and arrangement for maintaining end-to-end synchronization on a telecommunications connection on which data are transmitted in frames substantially in real time and using synchronized end-to-end encryption which is synchronized by occasionally transmitting synchronization vectors in the frames, at least part of the telecommunications connection being a packet-switched connection, whereby the reproduction delay of the data to be transmitted can be increased by adding one or more extra frames to the frame sequence to be transferred and reduced by removing one or more frames from the frame sequence to be transferred, the arrangement including reproduction delay adjustment mechanisms arranged to change the reproduction delay during the data transmission at such a moment that the frame to be transferred next includes a synchronization vector.
