A series connection having multiple safety switches. Here, the series connection includes wiring connecting the safety switches. The safety switches can output signals. Depending on the registration of these signals by additional safety switches of the series connection it will be detected whether the wiring is laid out for connecting a master, and whether such a master is connected. Depending on this, the operation of the safety switches is predetermined.

Safety switch

A safety switch () having an input/output structure and means for generating a switching signal. Depending on the switching signal, the operation of the system can be released. The input/output structure forms means of connection for connecting a start button (). By manually actuating the start button (), an acknowledgment signal for releasing the system is generated. The means of connection are detected automatically in the safety switch ().

The invention relates to a safety system () for a separating protective device with a first monitoring device for monitoring whether the separating protective device is bolted with a bolting system and with a second monitoring device for registering the position of the separating protective device. The second monitoring device has a sensor that generates direction-dependent signals and that differs from the first monitoring device.

Safety system

The invention relates to a safety switch () with a redundant input structure and with a redundant output structure. The safety switch () is designed for integration into a series connection () of safety switches (); the safety switch () has devices for detecting and adjusting the operating mode in the series connection (). The safety switch () is designed for replacement in the series connection () during its operation.

The invention relates to a module arrangement () with a base module and at least one submodule (); the base module has at least two connection modules. The submodule () can be put into contact via a connection module with a choice of one of the connection modules of the base module and can consequently be attached to the base module in different orientations. Detection devices for detecting the orientation of the submodule () attached to the base module are provided in the base module.
