A dental or medical CT imaging apparatus including a first longitudinally extending frame part. A support construction extends substantially perpendicularly from the longitudinally extending frame part. An X-ray source and an image detector which together form an X-ray imaging assembly are mounted to the support construction. A first driving mechanism is provided to move the X-ray imaging assembly about a virtual or physical rotation axis. A control system having at least one operation mode that simultaneously controls the first driving mechanism and the X-ray imaging assembly is provided. The support construction includes at least one guiding mechanism configured to enable laterally moving at least one of the X-ray source and the image detector in relation to the support construction. A range of the lateral movement of at least one of the X-ray source and the image detector includes a base position and a first and a second extreme position.

CT imaging apparatus

The invention relates, in particular, to structures of dental and medical cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) imaging apparatus. The basic construction of the apparatus includes a substantially vertically extending frame part () which supports via a horizontally extending support construction () the X-ray imaging means () of the apparatus. The apparatus includes a patient support structure () which extends substantially in parallel with and is essentially of the same length as the substantially vertically extending frame part ().

The invention relates, in particular, to structures of a dental and medical cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) apparatus. The basic construction of the apparatus includes two elongated frame parts () out of which the first frame part () is arranged to support X-ray imaging means () and wherein the frame parts () are mechanically connected to each other via an articulated construction () so as to allow for tilting of the first frame part () supporting the X-ray imaging means () with respect to the second frame part (). At the proximity of the second end of the first and second elongated frame parts () is arranged a locking mechanism () configured to enable connecting together and disconnecting the first and second elongated frame parts ().

Computed tomography apparatus for odontology, which includes an arm part arranged to be turnable, to which arm part at a distance from each other a radiation source and a receiver of image information have been arranged, in which apparatus said arm part is arranged to locate or to be transferred to such location with respect to the volume desired to be imaged that when the arm part is turned during the imaging, at least over a substantial angular range only a portion of the volume arranged to become imaged is within the radiation beam, and in which the control system of the apparatus comprises a control routine which then controls said radiation source to generate radiation as pulsed.

Computed tomography apparatus for odontology

The invention relates to a computed tomography apparatus designed for dental use, which includes a first arm part supporting imaging means and arranged turnable by means of an actuator, and a second arm part supporting the first arm part and arranged turnable by means of an actuator. The actuators are arranged controllable such that, during the imaging process, said first arm part does not rotate but remains in its place in relation to said second arm part and said second arm part rotates about its rotation axis.

An integrated dental care apparatus includes a patient chair and a dental care unit. The dental care unit is mounted on a floor while the dental care unit and the patient chair are structurally connected by a structure which supports the patient chair. Both the dental care unit and the patient chair have means for enabling them to be turned in relation to a vertical axis.

The present invention relates to limiting an x-ray beam used in connection with dental extra oral imaging by a plate mechanism () arranged to be operated by a drive mechanism including an actuator () arranged to move at least one plate element () comprised in the mechanism (). The plate mechanism () includes at least a first and a second plate element () which include at least a first slot () and a second slot (), respectively, and said drive mechanism is arranged to directly or indirectly move said first plate element () independently of location of said second plate element () and said second plate element () is arranged to be moved as dependent on the movements of said first plate element () only.

Limiting an X-ray beam in connection with dental imaging

A panoramic X-ray apparatus, comprising at least a support element (), a patient support () arranged to be movable in a vertical direction and an imaging station (). The panoramic X-ray apparatus has a support structure () arranged to support at least the imaging station (), and it has an actuator () producing a vertical linear motion for moving at least the imaging station () to different height positions. The panoramic X-ray apparatus comprises a transmission mechanism () which affects the velocity/travel distance of the vertical movement of the imaging station () and which is connected at least to the actuator () and either to the aforesaid support structure () or to the aforesaid support element in such manner that the velocity/travel distance of the vertical movement of the imaging station () is substantially greater than the velocity/travel distance of the motion imparted by the actuator () to the transmission mechanism ().

Panoramic X-ray apparatus

The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for controlling the movements of the functional elements (-) of an X-ray apparatus, such as a panoramic X-ray apparatus. In the method, one or more power means () provided with a control system (), a power stage () and a rotating power output shaft () is/are controlled so as to produce the aforesaid movements of the functional elements. The power output shaft () of the power means is caused to rotate by the control system and the power stage so that the power output shaft is in direct contact with the force receiving means () of the functional element.
