The present disclosure relates to a blind nut, a fastening arrangement and further to a method of fastening. The blind nut includes a cylindrical outer surface portion provided with one or more sealing elements. The sealing elements of the blind nut may seal against a cylindrical inner surface of a nut space inside which the blind nut is configured to penetrate when being tightened.

A rock drill includes a frame, a percussion member, an axial shank, and an axial sleeve provided within the frame and including a first pressure surface provided in a first pressure space and a second pressure surface provided in a second pressure space. A first channel is provided in the axial sleeve for providing a connection between the first pressure space and the second pressure space in at least one position of the axial sleeve in the frame. A second pressure channel connected to the second pressure space is connectable to external pressure. A pressure accumulator is connected to the first pressure space and the flow of the pressure medium outwards from the first pressure space is throttled.

Rock drill

A control valve for controlling flow of a pressure fluid in a breaking device includes a sleeve-like control valve having at least one opening enabling flow of the pressure fluid through the opening. The at least one opening includes at least one wall, at least a part of which is not arranged in a direction parallel to a radial direction of the control valve extending through the middle point of the cross section of the opening on the outer circumference of the control valve, such that the pressure fluid flowing through the opening may be arranged to rotate the control valve about the longitudinal axis of the control valve.

Control valve

A breaking device includes a frame, an impact device having a pressure chamber with a rear pressure chamber and a front pressure chamber. The breaking device further includes a first low pressure port at the rear pressure chamber, a first low pressure channel and a first low pressure accumulator connected to the first low pressure channel. The breaking device further includes a second low pressure port at the rear pressure chamber substantially opposite to the first low pressure port, second low pressure channel and a second low pressure accumulator connected to the second low pressure channel. The first low pressure accumulator and the second low pressure accumulator are arranged at the outer circumference of the frame of the breaking device at different positions in the axial direction of the breaking device.

Breaking device

A percussion piston for a rock drill machine having a pilot cylinder, a distributor and a pressure medium includes a control edge configurable to cause a change in the position of the distributor in a direction parallel to the axial direction of the percussion piston as the percussion piston moves in the impact direction (A) in relation to the pilot cylinder. The control edge of the percussion piston includes at least one notch provided on the outer periphery of the control edge and arranged to cause a start of a state change for the distributor before the control edge of the percussion piston passes by a corresponding control edge provided on the distributor or pilot cylinder.

Percussion piston

A rock drilling machine equipped with an axial bearing having at least one axial piston for setting the axial position of a drill shank and for damping stress pulses returning from the rock. The axial bearing includes a module that is detachable in one piece from one installation direction. The axial bearing module includes all necessary seals, bearing surfaces, and a module frame. Supporting forces caused by the operation of the axial bearing are transmitted of support members in the module frame directly to the body of the rock drilling machine, which is a uniform piece at least at the axial bearing.

A rock drilling machine and an axial bearing module. The rock drilling machine is equipped with an axial bearing having at least one axial piston for axially positioning a drill shank and for damping stress pulses returning from the rock. The axial bearing includes a module that is detachable in one piece from one installation direction. A pressure fluid operated impact device comprising a frame () whereto a tool () is mountable movably in its longitudinal direction, and control means () for controlling pressure fluid feed to the impact device (), as well as a method of generating a stress pulse in a pressure fluid operated impact device. The impact device () comprises a working chamber () and a transmission piston () moving therein. Energy charging means for charging energy of pressure fluid and the control means are coupled to allow periodically alternately pressure fluid to flow to the working chamber () and, correspondingly, to discharge pressure fluid from the working chamber (). In the method, pressure fluid is fed to the working chamber (), which produces a force pushing the transmission piston () in the direction of the tool (), thus generating a stress pulse in the tool ().

Impact device and method for generating stress pulse therein

An axial bearing includes a first piston and a second piston. Axial contact surfaces between the pistons are arranged in the same pressure space. The same pressure fluid fed to the axial bearing acts on the contact surfaces and on working pressure surfaces of the pistons. A rock drilling machine is also provided with such an axial bearing.

A method of generating a stress pulse, and an impact device. In the method, pressure fluid is fed as pressure pulses to a working chamber residing between the frame of the impact device and a tool such that the resulting force presses the tool towards the material to be processed. The impact device comprises a working chamber and device for conveying pressure fluid as pressure pulses thereto such that a force is produced between the frame of the impact device and a tool to press the tool towards the material to be processed.

A rock drill includes a string of components interconnected by screw threads and connected to a shank. A percussion piston is reciprocated against the shank during a drilling operation, while a support device applies axial support to the rear of the shank, to enhance the drilling action. When the components are being unscrewed, the percussion piston is actuated to strike the rear end of the drill string, after the support device has at least partially released the axial support of the shank, to enable tensile stress to be generated in the components by the percussive impacts to facilitate unscrewing of the components.

Method of opening joints between drilling components, and rock drill

A rock drill includes a shank. A percussion piston is arranged to hit the back end of the shank. Further, a pulling element is arranged around the shank, to which a pulling force can be directed in such a manner that the shank can, by the pulling force, be moved toward the percussion piston, when stuck drilling equipment is freed. During rock drilling, a push force is arranged to act on the pulling element, the push force being opposite with respect to the pulling force. The push force is designed in such a manner that during drilling the pulling element moves due to the push force toward the front section of the drill to be at a predefined distance from the position corresponding to the impact point of the shank.

The invention concerns an arrangement for controlling a hydraulic rock drilling device. The arrangement includes a pressure ratio valve that is used for adjusting the relation between the pressures in the pressure channel leading to the percussion device and/or another actuator, such as a shank stabilizer, and the pressure channel leading to the feed mechanism. The pressure ratio valve is arranged to keep the relation between the pressures of the actuator and the feed mechanism constant over the normal drilling range.

Arrangement for controlling rock drilling

An arrangement in a rock drill comprising a shank and a percussion piston and lifting sleeve for moving the shank towards percussion piston, and a method of controlling rock drilling. The arrangement comprises a lifting sleeve around the shank and a plurality of cylindrical lifting pistons around the shank. In the method, upon downward drilling, the magnitude of the feed force of the rock drill is decreased as the number of extension rods increases, and a force is set to act on some lifting pistons to move the shank towards the percussion point.

Arrangement in rock drill and method of controlling rock drilling

A method for adjusting percussion pressure and a drilling machine. In the method the percussion power of a drilling machine is adjusted by moving a shank in the longitudinal direction of the drilling machine forwards when a smaller percussion power is to be transferred from the percussion piston to the shank. The drilling machine comprises at least two groups of pistons moving in the axial direction of the drilling machine, the pistons being connected to act on the shank by means of a pressure medium acting behind the pistons towards the front end of the drilling machine. The drilling machine comprises at least two separate groups of pistons whose travel with respect to one another is different and where pressure medium channels separate from one another lead to the cylinder spaces of both piston groups.
