A gripper () for a tufting machine comprises a gripper body () having a cutout () for a cutting insert (), said cutting insert preferably consisting of a hard metal. Connecting means acting in a form-closed manner are provided for the connection of the cutting insert () with the gripper body (). In their simplest embodiment, said connecting means are formed by the deformation regions () that are provided on the gripper body () and that reach around matching cutouts () of the cutting insert ().

A quick-release clamping holder for a sewing needle, embroidery needle or the like has a needle receptacle () on which a needle clamping part () is preferably pivotally supported. A fixing element () is provided in order to clamp and fix the needle clamping part () in place, whereby said fixing element is pivotally or rotatably supported relative to a longitudinal central axis () of the needle and thus can be slid onto and off the needle clamping part (). Actuation is simple and safe.

The inventive gripper device for a tufting machine comprises a gripper device (). The gripper device contains a gripper () and a guide member () that has a cutting edge. The gripper () has two gripper sections that are at a distance from each other in the direction of movement and are preferably separated from each other by a step () and/or by an extension (), said gripper sections being configured as gripper edges that are parallel to each other, but spaced apart and offset with respect to each other in view of the pile height direction. The reversal between cut pile operating mode and looped pile operating mode takes place by means of the longitudinal adjustment of the gripper ().

Gripper device for tufting machine

A gripper () for tufting machines comprising a slider () that is supported in a gripper body to be movable in longitudinal direction and that is arranged in a slider receiving space () which, preferably, is configured as a slit. The slit extends from the lower narrow side () of the gripper body () into the gripper body. The slit is limited by two thin walls () or, alternatively, by only one thin wall (). A cutting edge insert receiving spaceis provided above the slider receiving space (), with the receiving space () extending from the flat side () end being recessed in the gripper body (). Between the cutting edge insert receiving space () and the slider receiving space (), a strip () is provided that preferably extends in longitudinal direction of the gripper body () and separates the receiving spaces () from each other.

Gripper for tufting machine

A gripper device in accordance with the invention comprises a gripper () and a counter knife element () that are fabricated separately and joined. As a result of this, optimal material combinations are possible, which will deal with both types of wear, namely between the gripper () and the tufting needle (), on the one hand, and between the knife () and the counter knife element (), on the other hand. The gripper module () accommodates the counter knife element (), which, in turn, supports the gripper (). The two parts may be joined by caulking, cementing, riveting, screwing or similar measures, or they may be cast together in the gripper module (). The cutting of the loop is done exclusively between the counter knife element () and the knife ().
