The invention relates to a method for controlling the activation of a brake of a hydraulic vehicle brake system of a hybrid vehicle which can be braked by the generator mode of an electric drive motor. The invention proposes equipping the vehicle brake system with an electromechanical brake booster and generating a pedal force at a brake pedal with the brake booster when braking by the generator mode of the electric drive motor occurs.

The invention describes a method for operating a controllable electromechanical brake booster and the corresponding brake booster which, via a coupling element between the brake booster and pedal rod, is capable of applying a force in opposition to the pedal activation force of a driver, and can therefore be operated as a pedal simulator. For this purpose, a pedal opposing force can be set by a characteristic curve as a function of a pedal position which is predefined by the driver, and can give the driver a pedal sensation even if there is no reaction of, for example, a conventional brake system. In a further operating mode, the brake booster can be operated in its original form.

An electromechanical brake booster is disclosed. The brake booster is constructed with two worm gears which run in opposite directions and whose axial forces compensate one another. The worm gears drive toothed rack gears which convert a rotational driving movement into a translatory output movement for activating a master brake cylinder. As a result of the provision of two gear paths, the loading of each gear path is halved and an application of force to a booster body, which forms a gear output, is symmetrical.

The invention relates to a method for operating a braking system for motor vehicles with electrically actuated hydraulic valves, the coils of which are powered up, at least in phases, with currents which modify the currentless state of the hydraulic valves, in order to heat the hydraulic fluid present in the system. The hydraulic fluid is heated via a heating profile which, in accordance with the hydraulic fluid temperature, activates the heating phase of the hydraulic fluid.
