This document discloses a solution for connecting wireless networks. According to an aspect, a method comprises: establishing, by a gateway device, a first physical layer connection with a first device of a two-way radio network operating according to a two-way radio network protocol, establishing, by the gateway device, a second physical layer connection with a second device of a wireless network operating according to a wireless communication protocol different from the two-way radio network protocol; and connecting, by the gateway device, a communication connection established between the second device and the wireless network to the first device through the first physical layer connection and the second physical layer connection.

An adapter for a hand-held electronic data processing device includes an electrical male connector insertable and configured to fit into a female connector of the electronic data processing device, wherein electrical connector elements, on a surface of the adapter, are coupleable with elements of an external connector, and the surface of the electrical connector elements are at least approximately averagely parallel to the surface of the adapter adjacent to them. The electrical male connector and the connector elements are in electrical connection with each other on or within the adapter for electrical adaptation between the external connector and the female connector of the electronic data processing device.

Adapter and adaptation method for hand-held electronic data processing device

In a method an an apparatus for automatic inspection of moving surfaces using at least three different illumination/observation channels, the surface to be inspected under a bright field condition is illuminated by a first beam of light from a first light source. The light of the first beam of light reemitted from the surface is received by a light sensitive sensor device to obtain a first signal. Then, the surface is illuminated under a dark field condition by a second beam of light and by a third beam of light from a second and a third light source, respectively, the first, second and third beams of light having different characteristics. The light of the second beam of light and the light of the third beam of light, respectively, reemitted from the surface are received by the light sensitive sensor device to obtain a second signal and a third signal. Finally, a physical property of the surface is derived from the first, second and third signals.

A method of and an equipment for optical inspection of strip and sheet products for the detection of surface defects, which equipment comprises an image forming apparatus 1, 2 for producing images of successive parts of the surface of a product 3 and for converting the images to analog signals 4, an A/D converter 5 for converting the analog signal to a digital signal 6, and an image analyzing unit 7 for analyzing the digital signal to detect surface defects therefrom. To reduce the data processing capacity required of the image analyzing unit, the equipment further comprises a compression unit 8 arranged between the A/D converter and the image analyzing unit for compressing the digital signal before it is analyzed.

Method of and an equipment for optical inspection of strip and sheet

A method and apparatus for the visual inspection of at least partly specularly reflective surfaces, such as metal surfaces, which are in continuous motion, by means of a receiver apparatus (5) and an image-analysis apparatus (6). In order to eliminate from the image produced in the received apparatus (5) the uneven illumination caused by variations in the height and orientation of the surface (4) being inspected, the view angle (30) of the received apparatus is adjusted in such a manner that the length of the image of the source of light, formed by means of a perforated lens (3) in front of the source of light (1) is greater than the diameter of the input pupil of the lens of the received apparatus (5).
