A hybrid resonator includes an acoustic wave resonator (AWR) having a piezoelectric material; a first electrical contact, electrically conductively connected to the piezoelectric material; and a second electrical contact, electrically conductively connected to the piezoelectric material. The hybrid resonator further includes a first resonant circuit, electrically conductively connected in series or parallel to the acoustic wave resonator via at least one of the first electrical contact and the second electrical contact. The resonant circuit includes a first inductor, and a first capacitor; wherein, if the first resonant circuit is electrically conductively connected to the acoustic wave resonator in series, the first inductor and the first capacitor are electrically conductively connected to one another in parallel, and if the first resonant circuit is electrically conductively connected to the acoustic wave resonator in parallel, the first inductor and the first capacitor are electrically conductively connected to one another in series.

Methods and devices for reducing power consumption and increasing frequency of operations in digital to analog converters

A method for determining a signal propagation time mismatch in a modulator comprises generating a predetermined signal shape of a amplitude component of a radio frequency signal generating one or more predetermined conditions in a frequency component of the radio frequency signal at a first time interval relative to the predetermined signal shape and detecting the one or more predetermined conditions in the frequency component at a second time interval. The method further includes determining the amplitude component at the second time interval and calculating a signal propagation time mismatch value based on the signal shape of the amplitude component, on the first time interval and the second time interval.

Method and circuits for determining signal propagation time mismatches in a modulator

Systems, methods, and circuitries are provided for generating timing signals with a resonator-based open-loop oscillator circuitry. In one example, a system that generates a timing signal based on a target signal includes a plurality of oscillator units configured to generate a respective plurality of oscillator signals. Each oscillator unit includes a resonator that operates in an open-loop mode to generate a resonator signal having a resonator frequency. The resonator signal is used by core circuitry to generate a respective oscillator signal having a respective oscillator frequency. The resonator frequencies of the resonators in the plurality of oscillator units are different from one another. The system also includes a selector circuitry configured to select one of the plurality of oscillator units based on the target signal and provide a selected oscillator signal generated by the selected oscillator unit as the timing signal.

Resonator-based open-loop timing signal generation

A transmitter for generating an analog radio frequency transmit signal is provided. The transmitter includes a digital-to-analog converter configured to receive an oscillation signal and a first digital data signal to generate an analog radio frequency transmit signal. Further, the transmitter includes an oscillation signal generator configured to generate the oscillation signal with an oscillation frequency based on a second digital data signal. The transmitter additionally includes a controller configured to change a first sample frequency of the first digital data signal from a first frequency to a value different than the oscillation frequency, wherein the first frequency is at least the oscillation frequency.

The circuit includes a digital to analog converter (DAC) configured to convert a time-varying, multi-bit digital value to a corresponding time-varying output current. The circuit also includes a mixer module downstream of the DAC and comprising a plurality of mixers. A transmission circuit includes a shift circuit, a second shift circuit, and a modulation circuit. The shift circuit is configured to select a shift amount according to shift parameters and to introduce the shift amount in a first direction into in phase and quadrature phase baseband signals. The second circuit is configured to selectively introduce the shift amount in a second direction into local oscillator signals. The modulation circuit is configured to modulate the shifted baseband signals onto the shifted local oscillator signals to generate a composite modulated output signal. Unwanted components of the output signal are shifted away from original or specified limits. Wanted components of the output signal are unshifted.

A high-frequency switching assembly having a first switching state and a second switching state includes a transmitter and a switch assembly. The transmitter includes a primary side and a secondary side having a first secondary side terminal and a second secondary side terminal and is configured to transmit an HF input signal applied to its primary side to its secondary side by means of inductive coupling. The switch assembly is configured to apply, in one state, a first reference potential to the first secondary side terminal. Further, the switch assembly is implemented to apply, in another state, a second reference potential to the second secondary side terminal.

One embodiment relates to a feedback receiver (FBR). The FBR includes a FBR signal input configured to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal, a first local oscillator (LO) signal input configured to receive a first LO signal having an LO frequency, and a second LO signal input configured to receive a second LO signal having the LO frequency. The second LO signal is phase shifted by approximately 90&#xb0; relative to the first LO signal. FBR also includes a divider that induces a time-varying phase shift in the first and second LO signals while concurrently retaining a 90&#xb0; phase shift between the first and second LO signals.

FBR DC vector offset removal using LO phase switching

One embodiment of the present invention relates to an apparatus for preventing remodulation in a transmission chain. A first offset generation circuit selectively introduces a first frequency offset into in-phase (I) and quadrature phase (Q) equivalent baseband signals. A second offset generation circuit selectively introduces a second frequency offset into an oscillator output signal. The frequency of the offset oscillator output signal is divided by a divider to form offset local oscillator signals, which are provided to up-conversion mixers that modulate the offset equivalent baseband signals onto the offset local oscillator signals to generate a composite modulated output signal. The first and second frequency offsets are chosen to have values that cancel during modulation. However, because the second frequency offset shifts the offset oscillator output signal's frequency to a value that is no longer a harmonic of the composite modulated output signal's frequency, remodulation is prevented.
