A method for creating a therapy plan for a particle therapy, in which a filter is used to adjust the depth of penetration of the particle beam and an immobilization device is used to immobilize a body region of a patient to be treated, includes adjusting the geometry of a deformable mass of a filter to the geometry of the immobilization device. The deformable filter mass is applied, at least partially, to the immobilization device. A planning data record is obtained with recordings of the filter, so that the properties of the filter are determined on the basis of the recordings and are used in the therapy plan.

Method for creating a therapy plan

A mounting device for phantoms for use in quality monitoring of a radiation therapy system is described. The mounting device is adapted such that a plurality of phantoms can be placed replicably in a defined position on the mounting device. A quality assurance procedure is performed by placing a plurality of phantoms on a mounting device, each phantom at a predefined position; positioning the mounting device in the radiation therapy system, so that one of the phantoms is located in a position intended for performing a quality monitoring procedure; and performing the procedure using one or more of the phantoms.

A treatment station for particle bombardment of a patient is provided. The treatment station includes an apparatus for adaptation of at least one particle beam parameter of a particle beam of a particle therapy installation. The treatment station operates in at least two operating modes, with the treatment station being operable in a first operating mode with a first particle type and in a second operating mode with a second particle type. The apparatus has at least one first beamforming element, which is held by a holding unit. The beamforming element is designed for adaptation of the particle beam parameter. The holding unit positions of the first beamforming element as a function of the operating mode, such that the first beamforming element can be arranged in the particle beam in the first operating mode, and cannot be arranged in the particle beam in the second operating mode.

Treatment station for particle therapy

A phantom for quality monitoring of a medical system, in particular a medical therapy system, or particle therapy system, is described. The phantom has a fixation device for coupling the phantom to a positioning device. In an aspect, a method for quality monitoring in a medical system, in particular a medical therapy system or particle therapy system is described, in which such a phantom is coupled via a fixation device to a positioning device and, with the aid of the positioning device, is brought to a predefined position. In another aspect, a particle therapy system has a treatment chamber, with a positioning device to which a phantom can be coupled so that the phantom can be brought to a predefined spatial position using the positioning device.

Expanding, monitoring, or adapting a particle energy distribution of a therapeutic particle beam installation

A water phantom is described, having a detector that is positionable in a container filled with water for measuring an ionizing radiation. The water phantom has at least one sensor for ascertaining an orientation of a positioning device, relative to a water surface. The orientation determination is based either on distances relative to the water surface that are measured by spacing sensors or, on inclinations, each measured by a gravity-sensitive inclination sensor.
