System and methods for distinguishing a laser aiming spot associated with a particular firearm from other laser aiming spots are disclosed. The laser aiming spot may be distinguished by imaging a field of view, the field of view including the laser aiming spot and the other laser aiming spots, identifying the laser aiming spot associated with the particular firearm within the imaged field of view, modifying the imaged field of view to distinguish the identified laser aiming spot from the other laser aiming spots, and displaying the modified imaged field of view.

Laser aiming spot distinguishing methods and apparatus

A dynamically corrected parallax system includes a head borne video source for imaging an object and providing video data. A controller electronically offsets the video data provided from the head borne video source to form offset video data. A display device receives the offset video data and displays the offset video data to a user's eye. The display device is configured for placement directly in front of the user's eye as a vision aid, and the head borne video source is configured for displacement to a side of the user's eye. The offset video data corrects parallax due to horizontal and/or vertical displacement between the display device and the head borne video source.

System and method for dynamically correcting parallax in head borne video systems

A system for compensating image misregistration between at least two image sensors includes a first image sensor and a second image sensor which are disposed on a platform and are configured to provide first and second output images, respectively. The system also includes a motion sensor and a processor. The motion sensor senses movement of the platform. The processor calculates a lag time between the first and second image sensors based on first and second processing delay times of the first and second image sensors, respectively. The processor also calculates an image offset based on the lag time and the movement of the platform sensed by the motion sensor and offsets one of the first or second output image with respect to the other one of the first or second output image based on the image offset. A fuser combines the offset image with the non-offset image.

Motion compensated image registration for overlaid/fused video

A method for scintillation suppression of video images includes receiving a frame of pixels having intensity values and identifying pixels in the received frame having scintillation noise. The method modifies intensity values of pixels in the received frame, which are identified as having scintillation noise, and forms a filtered frame of pixels. The method counts the number of pixels modified in the filtered frame of pixels, and displays the filtered frame of pixels if the amount of pixels counted is less than a threshold value. The method displays the received frame of pixels, if the amount of modified pixels counted in the filtered frame of pixels is greater than the threshold value.

System and method for scintillation suppression in intensified digital video

A collision avoidance system for a vehicle includes a collision avoidance processor, and an active sensor for obtaining successive range measurements to objects along a path transversed by the vehicle. The active sensor includes a near range gate for obtaining a near range measurement to objects located at a range less than a first predetermined range, and a far range gate for obtaining a far range measurement to objects located at a range greater than a second predetermined range. The near and far range measurements are provided to the collision avoidance processor for maneuvering of the vehicle.
