An implantable medical device comprises a housing, a circuit board structure arranged within in the housing and comprising at least one flexible section, an electronic module comprising at least one electronic component arranged on the circuit board structure, and an energy storage device for providing electrical energy for operation of the implantable medical device. The energy storage device is a solid-state battery mounted on the circuit board structure. An energy generation device connected to the energy storage device is a secondary cell, wherein the energy generation device is configured to convert patient energy to electrical energy for charging the energy storage device.

Implantable medical device comprising an energy storage device

An implantable medical device contains a hermetic battery. The hermetic battery contains a hermetically sealed battery housing defining an internal chamber, an electrochemical cell disposed within the internal chamber, and an electronic module disposed within the internal chamber. The electronic module is electrically conductively connected to the electrochemical cell, and the electronic module is arranged in the electrochemical cell.

An electrochemical voltage source has an anode containing lithium, a cathode containing manganese oxide, and a housing. The cathode and the anode are arranged in an interior of the housing and are arranged opposite one another. An electrolyte reservoir in the form of a compressible storage body, which receives an electrolyte, is arranged between the anode and the cathode. The storage body has a first side resting against an end face of the cathode and a second side, which faces away from the first side, and rests against an end face of the anode. The cathode experiences an increase in volume when the voltage source is discharged. The anode experiences a decrease in volume during the discharge. During the discharge, the absolute value of the volume increase of the cathode is at least as great as the absolute value of the volume decrease of the anode.

Active material for an electrode of a galvanic element

The present invention relates to an active element for a battery whose material contains copper oxyphosphate and an additive improving the conductivity. The proportion of the additive improving the conductivity in the material is between 3 and 7 wt. %, preferably between approximately 3 wt. % and approximately 5 wt. %, and the proportion of the copper oxyphosphate in the material adds up to 100 wt. %. The invention additionally relates to a battery having an active element of this type as well as a method for producing an active element of this type and a battery of this type. The battery according to the invention is suitable in particular for use in medical implants.

Active element and battery as well as method for the production thereof

The device has a filling cavity () for powder mixture (), at least one compression means () for compressing powder mixture (), and support () and fixing means () for positioning and fixing an electrically conductive diverter (). The diverter () is situated so that partial quantities () of powder mixture () are located above and below diverter (). The support means () and fixing means () are situated in such a way that a ratio of the partial quantities () of powder mixture () above and below the diverter () remains essentially maintained.
