A vacuum cementing system has at least one cement powder cartridge and a container-opening system. The container-opening system has at least one container for at least one liquid and/or at least one powder, an opening device, and an outlet opening for applying a negative pressure. When a negative pressure is being applied, the opening device is mobile relative to at least a part of the at least one container. The vacuum cementing system has a means for connecting the cement powder cartridge to the at least one container and utilizes necessary vacuum for automatically opening the at least one container.

Vacuum cementing system

A device automatically mixes bone cement and has two separate plunger space sections with a gas feed and a gas outlet, which are separated from each other through a plunger. A blocking organ is provided in the plunger and can be switched at the turnaround points of the plunger path. Suitable connecting facilities connect the plunger to a mixing facility that is arranged in a mixing vessel. Alternating build-up of a pressure difference and pressure equalization in both plunger space sections causes the plunger to move up and down. The plunger motion effects a simultaneous up-and-down motion and rotation of the mixing facility.

Device for mixing bone cement and method for mixing bone cement and use of the device

Device and method for degassing and dispensing bone cement that can be used to produce a bone cement that is largely free of air inclusions. The device contains a dispensing tube () that comprises at least one section () that is permeable to gas, but impermeable to bone cement. The bone cement is being moved along the gas-permeable section which causes the gas present in the bone cement to flow through the gas-permeable material.

Device and method for degassing and dispensing bone cement

A device stores and mixes a liquid and a solid component, in particular, the device mixes and stores a monomer liquid and a powder for producing bone cement. The device contains two chambers of which the first chamber contains the solid component and is separated from a second chamber that contains the liquid component by means of a separation that can be opened. A mixing facility that can be driven by means of a pressure difference is arranged in the first chamber. In the present storage and mixing system, a vacuum that is available in the operating theatre is used to mix a monomer liquid and a bone cement powder in a vacuum and to operate a mixing facility simultaneously. Moreover, the vacuum can also be used to open a separation between monomer liquid and mixing space and to transfer the monomer liquid into the mixing space.

A cartridge for squeezing-out a cartridge content, like a cement, or a medical cement, having a cylindrical hollow space bordered by a cartridge wall, a feed plunger arranged in the hollow space to be mobile along the cylinder axis of the hollow space and abutting the cartridge wall, and at least one snap-in means for locking the feed plunger in place at the cartridge wall, to a locking device arranged on the feed plunger and comprises at least a snap-in means which is accessible from outside when the feed plunger is locked. The invention also provides a cartridge system with a cartridge for squeezing out content and a method for dispensing such cartridge content, preferably a cement, through the use of a cartridge of said type.

A cartridge system for mixing and applying a mixing ware. The cartridges are arranged parallel and they are connected to a mixing space and an outlet opening. The cartridges each comprise a feed plunger for expelling starting components of the mixing ware from the cartridges through the openings, and each cartridge has at least one closure allocated to it that is shiftable in longitudinal direction of the cartridges, whereby the closures close the openings of the cartridges in a starting position, and the openings are open, at least in part, in an end position of the shiftable closures. In open position, the closure is shifted into a hollow space. The closures are cylindrical in shape and in their end position are capable of being lowered into cylindrical hollow spaces of the cartridges in order to uncover the openings.

Cartridge systems for application of a material have at least one cartridge having cartridge walls, a cartridge head having at least one opening in the cartridge head, and a bracket arranged on the cartridge head. A valve is mounted in rotatable manner in the bracket and has at least one passage through the valve that is connected to an outlet opening of the valve. In a closed position, the valve closes the at least one opening of at least one cartridge in a sealed manner. The at least one passage of the valve is connected to the at least one opening when the valve is located in an open position such that the cartridge content is squeezable out of the at least one cartridge through the outlet opening, and further wherein the valve is configured to be transitioned from a closed position to an open position through a rotation of the valve about an axis of symmetry of the valve.
