The present invention relates to a fuel pump () which comprises a pump housing (), a delivery element () for delivering fuel, a heat-generating actuator () for actuating the delivery element (), a first fuel path () which leads from an inlet () to a delivery space (), and a second fuel path () which leads from the inlet () past the heat-generating actuator () to a first housing opening (), wherein the first housing opening () is arranged above the inlet () in the vertical direction (V). The present invention also relates to a fuel pump arrangement which comprises a fuel pump () according to the invention and a fuel tank () in which the fuel pump () is at least partially and preferably entirely arranged. The present invention also relates to a method for operating a fuel pump ().
