A polydiorganosiloxane having both a silicon bonded aliphatically unsaturated group and a silicon bonded poly(meth)acrylate polymer or copolymer, and method for preparation of this polydiorganosiloxane are disclosed. The method preserves the aliphatically unsaturated groups when grafting the poly(meth)acrylate to the polydiorganosiloxane. This polydiorganosiloxane is useful in hydrosilylation reaction curable compositions, such as pressure sensitive adhesive compositions.

Polyorganosiloxane having poly(meth)acrylate groups and methods for the preparation and use thereof

A dispersion contains: (a) a polyorganosiloxane with at least 90 mole % dimethyl D units and viscosity of one kPa*s or more dispersed as 0.5-20 micrometer particles; (b) a condensation product of: (i) a polysiloxane resin (Mw of 4,000-50,000) with composition: (RSiO)(SiO)(ZO)where a is 0.30-0.60, b is 0.40-0.70, c is 0.05-0.20, a+b is one, R is selected from hydrogen, Calkyl groups and aryl groups, and Z is selected from H, and Calkyls; and (ii) a polyoxyalkylene polymer (Mn of 4,500-50,000) with composition: A&#x2014;O&#x2014;(CHO)(CHO)&#x2014;A' where e/p is 1-9, A and A&#x2032; are selected from hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, and substituted aryl groups and at least one of A and A&#x2032; is H; (c) non-aqueous fluid carrier miscible with (a); and (d) monoterpene; the weight-ratio of (c) to (b) is 0.5-1; weight-ratio of (b) and (c) to (a) is 0.01-0.50; and the composition contains below one ppm aromatic solvent.

An (A) additive organopolysiloxane composition is disclosed which comprises (A1) a branched organopolysiloxane polymer comprising M, D and Q siloxy units and (A2) a silicone resin. The (A) additive organopolysiloxane composition has a content of aliphatically unsaturated groups of from 1.5 to 7.0 wt. %. A curable composition is also disclosed, the curable composition comprising the (A) additive organopolysiloxane composition, (B) an organosilicon compound having at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, and (C) a hydrosilylation catalyst. A method of preparing the curable and a method of forming a film with the curable composition are also disclosed.
