A setting system () for a tool () is described, and in particular for a rotary metal working tool, wherein the setting system () aligns at least one insert () of the tool (). The setting system () comprises an adjusting unit (), which cooperates with the insert (), and actuating device (), which includes at least one electric actuator () exerting an adjusting force on the adjusting unit (). A cutting tool having a shaft with a longitudinal axis, wherein the cutting tool includes a first flute extending about the longitudinal shaft along a helix angle and a first cutting edge adjacent the first flute. The cutting tool also includes a second flute extending about the longitudinal shaft along a helix angle and a second cutting edge adjacent a second flute. The cutting tool further includes a third flute extending about the longitudinal shaft along a helix angle and a third cutting edge adjacent the third flute. The first cutting edge, the second cutting edge, and the third cutting edge are unequally angularly spaced from each other.

A drill bit, such as a twist drill, having a body equipped with flutes, as well as a drill bit face that includes two main cutting edges that merge together. In order to drill a blind hole, such as with a level drilled bottom, the main cutting edge forms a continuous cutting edge that runs in a plane perpendicular to the drill bit's longitudinal axis. The main cutting edges, with respect to a cutting direction, are arranged behind a center line lying in the plane which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the drill and extending through the center of the drill as well as in the direction of the main cutting edges.

A twist drill including a cutting tip having a front flank face, a substantially cylindrical tool body extending rearwardly from the cutting tip, and a shank. The tool body includes a rotational axis therethrough and at least one flute formed on an outer peripheral surface thereof and extending to the front flank face. The at least one flute includes a first helical portion opening to the front flank face and a second helical portion extending from the rear end of the first helical portion toward the rear portion of the tool body. The second helical portion twists in a direction opposite of the first helical portion.
