The sealing cover () comprises a planar support (), on which a number of sealing elements () are arranged, each of which is provided for the sealing of a sample container (). The planar support () and the sealing elements () are produced from different materials in the same injection molding tool () by means of two-component injection molding. The planar support () is detachably connected to the sealing elements () by means of adhesion. The planar support () and the sealing elements () are preferably made from related plastics.

The present invention relates to a method for manufacture a body from a thermoplastic plastic with a three-dimensionally structured surface, wherein molding is performed directly from a master made of glass coated with metal oxide, without deposition of further coatings on a surface of the master. The invention also relates to bodies manufactured with this method from a thermoplastic featuring a three-dimensionally structured surface, as well as to planar optical structures likewise manufactured with this method for generating evanescent-field measuring platforms and to a use thereof. The invention furthermore relates to a planar optical structure for generating an evanescent-field measuring platform, comprising a first essentially optical transparent, waveguiding layer (a) with refractive index nand a second essentially optical transparent layer (b) with refractive index n, where n&#x3e;n, in a case of an embodiment of a planar optical film waveguide, or comprising a metal layer (a') and a second layer (b), in a case of an embodiment for generating a surface plasmon resonance, wherein the second layer (b) comprises a material from a group comprising cyclo-olefin polymers and cyclo-olefin copolymers.

Method for production of moulded bodies, in particular optical structures and use thereof

A system of flow-through cells is obtained by assembling a body with a base plate. The body has a first spring element and a first stop, disposed on opposite end sections of the body, at least one second spring element and a corresponding second stop, disposed on opposite faces of the body, and at least one support element and at least one retaining element, which are adapted for the exact positioning of the body in the receiving openings of a support in three directions.

Body for flow-through cells and the use thereof

An integrally built, linear array of cuvettes is made of a plastic material. Every cuvette of the array has the same shape and dimensions. Neighboring cuvettes are connected to each other by a single web. Each of the single webs has a curved shape and each cuvette has means forming integral part thereof and serving for accurately positioning the cuvette into an opening of a cuvette holder and means for removably connecting the cuvette to the cuvette holder. Each cuvette has an upper chamber and a lower chamber having a common symmetry axis passing through the centers of both chambers. Each of the upper and lower chambers has a substantially cylindrical shape. The cross-section of the upper chamber at the central part thereof is larger than the cross-section of the lower chamber. The lower chamber has an open lower end. The upper chamber has an open top end and an annular bottom wall having a central circular opening which connects the upper chamber with the lower chamber. The inner surface of the bottom wall of the upper chamber () is part of a conical surface the cross-section of which forms an angle of about 80 degrees with the symmetry axis, so that there is an abrupt change of cross-section between the upper chamber and the lower chamber. A two-dimensional array of cuvettes comprises a plurality of linear cuvette arrays inserted into a cuvette holder having a matrix array of cuvette receiving openings. A system of two-dimensional cuvette arrays is built by stacking two or more of such two-dimensional arrays of cuvettes. Foil shaped layers serving, e.g. as a filter, are adapted to be attached to each cuvette to cover at least one opening thereof.
