An electrode comprises an inorganic composite layer of a mixture of at least one insulating inorganic material and at least one at least partially conducting inorganic material. In an application of such an electrode, an organic electroluminescent device comprises a first and second conductor layers. An organic layer is disposed between the first and second conductor layers. The aforementioned composite layer is disposed between the organic layer and the first conductor layer. Methods of fabricating such an electrode and such a device are also described.

Inorganic electrode for organic electroluminescent devices

The present invention discloses an electrode structure for electronic and opto-electronic devices. Such a device comprises a first electrode substantially having a conductive layer (), a nonmetal layer () formed on the conductive layer, a fluorocarbon layer () formed on the nonmetal layer, a structure () formed on the structure. The electrode may further comprise a buffer layer () between the conductive layer and the nonmetal layer.

Electrode structure for electronic and opto-electronic devices

There is provided a method for fabricating an organic light emitting device. The method includes depositing a first electrode layer on a substrate, depositing an electrically insulating layer on the first electrode layer, depositing a second electrode layer on the insulating layer, depositing an organic layer on the second electrode layer, forming an aperture in the organic layer, depositing a light transmissive electrically conductive layer on the organic layer, and forming an electrical connection between the conductive layer and one of the first and second electrode layers via the aperture.

Organic light emitting devices

An organic light emitting device (and a method for producing the device) includes a multilayered structure with a substrate layer providing a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer and at least one layer of light emitting organic material between the first and second electrode layers. The second electrode layer includes at least two separate layers, a layer of a semi-transparent metal electrode and a layer of light transparent lateral conductor, is deposited onto the layer of light emitting organic material such as depositing the semi-transparent metal electrode layer onto the layer of light emitting organic material, depositing subsequently at least one protection layer thereupon and depositing the light transparent lateral conductor layer onto the protection layer.

Method for producing an organic light emitting device (OLED)

A method of making a light-emitting device comprises forming a first and second components. The first component has a first substrate, a first electrode on the first substrate, an organic layer on the first electrode, and a light-transmissive second electrode on the organic layer. The second component has a light-transmissive second substrate, and a light transmissive, electrically conductive layer on the second substrate. The first and second components are joined with the second electrode of the first component facing the conductive layer of the second component. An electrical contact is formed between the second electrode of the first component and the electrically conductive layer of the second component.

Organic light-emitting devices

An organic light emitting device has a layer structure having: a first electrode layer; a second electrode layer parallel to the first electrode layer; and, an electrically conductive and light transmissive layer parallel to the second electrode layer. An electrically insulating layer is disposed between the first and second electrode layers. A layer of organic material is disposed between the second electrode layer and the conductive layer. An aperture in the organic layer provides an electrical connection path between the conductive layer and one of the first and second electrode layers.

A method of making a light-emitting device comprises forming a first and second components. The first component has a light-transmissive first substrate, light transmissive first electrode layer on the first substrate, an organic layer on the first electrode, and a second electrode layer on the organic layer. The second component has a second substrate and driver array circuitry on the second substrate. The first component and the second component are joined together with the second electrode of the first component facing the driver array of the second component. An electrical contact is formed between one of the first and second electrode layers of the first component and the driver array circuitry of the second component.

An organic light emitting device is provided which includes a cathode ( ), an anode ( ), and an organic electroluminescent region ( ). The anode includes a metal layer ( ), a barrier layer ( ), and an anode modification layer ( ). Light is emitted through the cathode ( ) when a voltage is applied between the anode ( ) and the cathode ( ).

Anode modification for organic light emitting diodes

An organic light emitting device (and a method for producing the device) includes a multilayered structure with a substrate layer providing a first electrode layer, a second electrode layer and at least one light emitting organic material layer between the first and second electrode layers. The second electrode layer includes at least two separate layers. That is, a semi-transparent metal electrode layer and a light transparent lateral conductor layer is deposited onto the light emitting organic material layer by depositing the semi-transparent metal electrode layer onto the light emitting organic material layer, depositing subsequently at least one protection layer thereupon and depositing the light transparent lateral conductor layer onto the protection layer.
