A system including a computing device including a chassis and one or more components. The computing device also including a chip assembly positioned within the chassis. The chip assembly including at least one component of the one or more components of the computing device and a pressure chamber adjacent to the at least one component, wherein the pressure chamber is hermetically sealed and contains a fluid mixture configured to facilitate convective cooling of the at least one component.

Hybrid immersion cooling system

This disclosure describes systems for arranging racks within a data center for a smaller and/or more flexible footprint, more efficient and/or resilient cooling, and/or easier installation. In some examples, this disclosure describes a data center rack system that includes an aisle and a plurality of rack stations adjacent to the aisle. The aisle includes an aisle guidance track defining an aisle axis. Each rack station of the plurality of rack stations includes a station guidance track defining a station axis. The station guidance track is configured to receive a rack from the aisle guidance track and position the rack in the respective rack station at a rack angle formed between the aisle axis and the station axis that is less than 90 degrees.

Data center rack system

A power supply system includes a multitude of independent electrical systems each comprising one or more power blocks, wherein each power block is configured to provide a respective power output and a converter comprising a multitude of inputs coupled to the multitude independent electrical systems and comprising a multitude of outputs coupled to a multitude of independent loads, the converter configured to aggregate the power output of each of the multitude of independent electrical systems and to output direct current (DC) power to the multitude of independent loads through the multitude of outputs based on the aggregated power output. The power supply system includes a power controller coupled to the converter and configured to allocate power to each of the multitude of independent loads based on input power from each of the multitude of independent electrical systems and power consumption from each of the multitude of independent loads.

Aggregating unused power in a facility

In some examples, an electrical power system includes a power source and a load modulator configured to receive power from the power source and to deliver power to a load zone. The electrical power system also includes a controller configured to determine a software-controlled power flow limit for the load zone. The controller is further configured to receive information indicating the power delivered to the load zone and to cause the power delivered to the load zone to remain below the software-controlled power flow limit.

This disclosure describes techniques that include managing flows of energy within a system that includes a data center and using at least some of the energy flows to provide power to the data center. In some examples, this disclosure describes a system comprising a power generation system, a battery storage system having a state of charge attribute, and processing circuitry having access to an electrical power grid, the power generation system, and the battery storage system. In one example, the processing circuitry is configured to: determine an energy utilization forecast for a data center; monitor energy availability factors; and determine, based on the energy utilization forecast and the monitored energy availability factors, an energy flow configuration defining energy flows involving with the electrical power grid, the power generation system, the battery storage system, and the data center.

Data center energy management system using an energy flow configuration

An apparatus includes a driver and both a pump and a compressor mechanically coupled to the driver. The driver includes a first driver chamber and a second driver chamber separated by a moveable driver barrier coupled to a mechanical link. The driver is configured to alternately expand and contract the first and second driver chambers in response to an alternating pressure differential of a gaseous first coolant between a first pressure and a second pressure of the first and second driver chambers and produce a mechanical force from the alternating pressure differential. The pump is configured to pump a liquid first coolant in response to the mechanical force from the driver. The compressor is configured to compress a second coolant in response to the mechanical force from the driver.

Data center refrigeration system

A method includes, at a start time, controlling a cooling unit to start the cooling unit in a mechanical mode and controlling the cooling unit to transition, after waiting a waiting interval from the start time and over a transition interval, the cooling unit from the mechanical mode to an economizer mode. In the mechanical mode, the cooling unit receives return air, cools the return air, and releases the cooled return air as supply air. The supply air is air supplied to a cooled volume. In the economizer mode, the cooling unit receives outdoor air and releases the outdoor air as at least a portion of the supply air. Transitioning the cooling unit from the mechanical mode to the economizer mode includes transitioning, over the transition interval, from receiving only the return air to receiving progressively less of the return air and progressively more of the outdoor air.

Cooling unit control

An apparatus includes a pump and a driver mechanically coupled to the pump. The driver is configured to receive gaseous refrigerant at a first pressure, discharge gaseous refrigerant at a second pressure, and produce a mechanical force from a pressure differential between the first pressure and the second pressure. The pump is configured to receive liquid refrigerant at a third pressure, discharge liquid refrigerant at a fourth pressure, and pump liquid refrigerant from the third pressure to the fourth pressure in response to the mechanical force from the driver.

In some examples, a system includes a data center storage space, a partition, and a cooling device. The data center storage space includes a hot aisle and a cold aisle. The partition separates the hot aisle and the cold aisle and defines an aperture. The cooling device includes a connection member and a flexible member. The connection member is configured to connect to the aperture and defines a first lumen. The flexible member is connected to the connection member and defines a second lumen. At least a portion of the flexible member is configured to be selectively movable. The cooling device is configured to allow cool air to move from the cold aisle to the hot aisle to lower a temperature of air disposed within the hot aisle.

Hot-aisle cooling

An apparatus and method for cooling a fluid are disclosed. The apparatus includes a pre-cooling chamber and a main tower in a generally side-by-side configuration. A cooling fluid flows generally transversely through the pre-cooling chamber and the main tower in order to cool the fluid to be cooled.
