A tilt ball switch has a chamber space, and includes a first terminal, a second terminal including two outer terminal members and an inner terminal member, and a conductive ball movably disposed in the chamber space and convertible between a conducting state, in which the conductive ball is in contact with the first terminal and the inner terminal member so that the first terminal is conductively connected to the outer terminal members, and a non-conducting state, in which the conductive ball is prevented from being in contact with one of the first terminal and the inner terminal member so that the first terminal is prevented from being conductively connected to the outer terminal members.

Tilt ball switch

A rolling-ball tilt switch includes a conductive housing having an inner surface that surrounds a longitudinal axis and that defines a roller cavity, an insulating seat inserted into the roller cavity, a conductive terminal having a protruding section extending through the insulating seat into the roller cavity, and a ball unit disposed in the roller cavity and moveable between a conducting position and a non-conducting position. The longitudinal axis and an extension of a surface portion of the inner surface of the conductive housing cooperatively define a first angle that ranges from 2 to 12 degrees.

Rolling-ball tilt switch

A rolling-ball tilt switch includes a conductive housing having an inner surface that surrounds a longitudinal axis and that defines a roller cavity, an insulating seat inserted into the roller cavity, a conductive terminal having a protruding section extending through the insulating seat into the roller cavity, and a conductive rolling-ball disposed in the roller cavity and movable between a conducting position and a non-conducting position. The longitudinal axis and an extension of a surface portion of the inner surface of the conductive housing cooperatively define an angle ranging from 5 to 55 degrees.

A sensor switch includes two electroconductive terminals and two electroconductive beads. The electroconductive terminals are spaced apart along an axis. Each of the electroconductive terminals has an inner surrounding surface surrounding the axis and having an indented segment indented away from the axis. The electroconductive beads are movably and respectively disposed in the electroconductive terminals. When the sensor switch is placed such that the axis horizontally leveled, the electroconductive beads are respectively retained in the indented segments of the electroconductive terminals to be spaced apart from each other so that the sensor switch is in an open state.

Sensor switch

A portable lighting and warning device includes: a housing; a lighting generator unit; a sensor unit sensing shaking of the housing to generate a sense output; a mode selector unit generating a mode indication signal; a warning generator unit; and a controller unit. In a case where the mode indication signal indicates a lighting mode, the controller unit controls the lighting generator unit to emit light. In a case where the mode indication signal indicates a warning mode, the controller unit waits for a predetermined pause time, and then controls the warning generator unit and the lighting generator unit to output sound and emit light when the sense output corresponds to the shaking of the housing not less than a predetermined level in intensity.

Portable lighting and warning device

A detecting apparatus includes a container, and a detecting device including a transmitting module and a receiving module. The transmitting module includes a light-emitting element provided at a first point of the container and operable to transmit a photo signal to propagate toward the container along an optical path. The receiving module includes a light-receiving element provided at a second point of the container and configured to receive the photo signal transmitted through the container. The receiving module is operable to determine whether a substance is present within the container based on receipt of the photo signal. An imaginary tangent plane tangent to the first point is not parallel to an imaginary tangent plane tangent to the second point.

Detecting device, detecting apparatus, and method for detecting presence of substance in container

A sensor switch includes an insulated housing having an inner wall surface that defines a through hole. The through hole has a shoulder interconnecting large and small diameter hole sections thereof. A first conductive terminal includes a head portion embedded in the large diameter hole section and having a first contact surface. A plug portion of a second conductive terminal is embedded in the large diameter hole section spaced apart from the head portion and has a second contact surface facing the first contact surface. The inner wall surface and the first and second contact surfaces cooperatively confine a sensing chamber. At least one conductive member is rollably accommodated in the sensing chamber.

Sensor switch and method of assembly thereof

A photoelectric switch includes first and second shell halves respectively having first and second coupled surfaces which confront each other along an axis in either a horizontal direction or an upright direction. The coupled surfaces respectively have first and second recessed regions aligned with each other to confine a rolling chamber for a roller to be rollable therein, and define left and right holes at two opposite ends of the rolling chamber, and emitter and receiver accommodating chambers outwardly of the left and right holes for accommodating a light emitter and a light receiver such that a light passage is defined by the left and right holes and the rolling chamber.

A power control device includes an electric power switch and a control unit. The control unit is mounted on an electric device, determines whether the electric device is disposed at a normal use position or an abnormal inclined position, and determines whether the electric device is at a normal use state and is disposed at the normal use position. The control unit controls the electric power switch to provide electric power to the electric device when the electric device is at the normal use state, and to stop providing the electric power to the electric device when the electric device is at the abnormal inclined position.

Power control device with multi-directional sensing ability

A tilt switch includes a housing defining a chamber and including a frusto-conical inner wall surface having a cone angle which is less than or equal to 90 degrees, and a tapered bottom inner wall surface that defines a bottom end of the chamber, that tapers downwardly from a bottom end of the frusto-conical inner wall surface and that forms a cone angle which is greater than 90 degrees. A light emitter and a light receiver are disposed respectively at two opposite sides of the chamber. A rolling element is rollable in the chamber between blocking and unblocking positions, where the rolling element blocks and unblocks light emitted from the light emitter, respectively.

A method of producing an electrical switch which includes a rolling ball movable within a housing thereof to bridge and contact an array of pin terminals includes the steps of forming the pin terminals by using a punching process, wherein one or more smooth burr-free surfaces are formed on each of the pin terminals; and assembling the pin terminals, the housing and the rolling ball by spacing apart the pin terminals along a polygonal line and by arranging the smooth burr-free surfaces of the pin terminals to face toward each other substantially along diagonal lines such that the rolling ball contacts only the smooth burr-free surfaces when bridging the pin terminals.

Electrical switch and method of producing the same

A multi-directional tilt switch includes a housing inner surface defining a chamber, a housing outer surface opposite to the housing inner surface, a plurality of slots extending through the housing inner and outer surfaces, and a plurality of conductive terminals each including an insert portion inserted in a corresponding slot, a contact portion extending into the chamber, and a first connecting surface exposed from the housing outer surface. A conductive body is accommodated movably in the chamber between a first position, where the conductive body bridges two contact portions, and a second position, where the conductive body does not bridge any two contact portions.

Multi-directional tilt switch

A tilt switch includes an insulated housing with two housing halves cooperatively defining an accommodation chamber and a plurality of positioning grooves formed in a surface of at least one housing half around the accommodation chamber. A plurality of conductive terminals are sandwiched between the housing halves. Each conductive terminal has a plate member positioned in a respective positioning groove, and a contact portion extending into the accommodation chamber. A conductive body is disposed in the accommodation chamber and is movable between a closed circuit state that bridges the contact portions of at least two conductive terminals and an open circuit state that does not bridge the contact portions of any two conductive terminals.

Sandwich-type tilt switch

A multi-point tilt switch includes an insulator housing surrounding a chamber, a first conductive component mounted to the housing and having a contact portion bordering the chamber, a plurality of second conductive components each having a contact portion in the chamber, and a conductor accommodated in the chamber. Each of the first and second conductive components has a connection portion exposed from the housing. The conductor is movable in the chamber to contact or not to contact the contact portions of at least two of the first and second conductive components, so as to make or break electrical connection therebetween.

Multi-point tilt switch

A photoelectric switch includes a base having a tubular wall surrounding an axis, and a cover coupled to the base and including a rib unit that cooperates with the tubular wall to confine a rolling chamber. The rib unit has at least one portion overlapping the tubular wall. A light passage extends through the rolling chamber and two diametrically opposite sides of the tubular wall. A photoelectric unit is enclosed by the base and the cover, and includes a light emitter and a light receiver disposed respectively on two opposite ends of the light passage, and a rolling member disposed in the rolling chamber and movable between a blocking position to block the light passage and a non-blocking position to unblock the light passage.
