A biaxially oriented multilayer film having (a) a polyolefinic core layer containing (i) a thermoplastic material containing an alpha-olefin/polypropylene-containing copolymer, the thermoplastic material being in an amount of about 10% to 70% by weight of the core layer and (ii) an isotactic polypropylene-containing copolymer in an amount of greater than 0% to about 50% by weight of the core layer and (b) a skin layer containing a styrene-butadiene copolymer or a cyclic olefin copolymer is disclosed.

High oxygen transmission biaxially oriented film with improved tensile properties

A laminate film including a first polyolefin heat sealable matte resin layer including a blend of 15-30 wt % metallocene-catalyzed butene-propylene elastomer and 85-70 wt % of a matte resin including ethylene homopolymer and propylene homopolymer or copolymer is disclosed. The laminate film could further have additional layers such as a second polyolefin resin-containing layer, a metal layer, or combinations thereof.

Biaxially oriented polypropylene film with heat sealable matte layer

Described are laminate films including a polyolefin base layer, and a metal receiving layer including a blend of propylene homopolymer or mini-random propylene-ethylene copolymer, and an amorphous poly-alpha-olefin or ethylene-propylene elastomer. The metal receiving layer may also include an ethylene-propylene copolymer. The laminate film may also include additional layers such as an additional polyolefin resin-containing layer, a metal layer, or combinations thereof.

A laminate film including a first polyolefin layer comprising of a blend of 50-95% ethylene-propylene copolymer and 50-5% ethylene polar terpolymer with a polar polymer layer on one side of said first polyolefin resin-containing layer is disclosed. The laminate film could further have additional layers such as a second polyolefin resin-containing layer, a metal layer, or combinations thereof.

Tie-layer for polyolefin films

This invention relates to a biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP) film comprising a polyolefin-containing base layer with at least 1 weight percent recycled polyolefin material comprises polyhydroxy amino ether polymer (PHAE) and an amount of compatibilizing agent such that the laminate film has a gel count of less than 15 gels/80 in. The laminate film could have an optional tie-layer which could comprise PHAE adhered to one side; the polypropylene film contains an amount of reprocessed PHAE-containing film and a compatibilizing agent to reduce significantly or eliminate visual defects such as gels, voids, etc. The use of the compatibilizing agent with the reprocessed PHAE also aids in improving subsequent biaxial film orientation and maintains film properties. The film of the embodiments of the invention has excellent appearance and aesthetic properties and can be suitable for transparent, white opaque, or metallized film applications depending on formulation.

Reprocessed polyhydroxy amino ether coated polypropylene film

A laminate film comprising a polyetheramine resin-containing layer on a first polyolefin resin-containing layer or a first polyethylene terephthalate resin-containing layer is disclosed. The laminate film could further have additional layers such as a second polyolefin resin-containing layer, a second polyethylene terephthalate resin-containing layer, a metal layer or combinations thereof.

The film has substantially a small amount of void-initiating particles in the skin layer and typically no fillers in the core layer. Yet the film shows no visible distortion after exposure to food products such as potato chips.
