A method of measuring one or more conditions within a predetermined area includes receiving at a control system a signal including scattered light and time of flight information associated with a plurality of nodes of a detection system, parsing the time of flight information into zones of the detection system, identifying one or more features within the scattered light signal, and analyzing the one or more features within the scattered light signal to determine a presence of the one or more conditions within the predetermined area.

A detection system for measuring one or more conditions within an area. At least one fiber optic cable transmits light wherein the at least one fiber optic cable defines a plurality of nodes arranged to measure the one or more conditions. A control system communicates with the at least one fiber optic cable such that scattered light and a time of flight record is transmitted from the at least one fiber optic cable to the control system. The control system includes a detection algorithm operable to identify a portion of the scattered light associated with each of the plurality of nodes. A system and method for detecting elevator maintenance behaviors in an elevator hoistway. The system of the invention comprises: an emitting component for emitting wireless signals including channel state information (CSI) into the elevator hoistway; a receiving component for receiving the CSI from the elevator hoistway; and a maintenance behavior detecting device, which comprises: a memory that stores CIS image recognition models constructed corresponding to the predefined elevator maintenance behaviors and a corresponding computer program executable on a processor, and the processor configured to be able to execute the computer program to implement the following operations: processing data of the received CSI to obtain a CSI image corresponding to the elevator maintenance behavior detected, and inputting the CSI image to the CSI image recognition model for analysis and processing so as to detect the elevator maintenance behavior.

System and method for detecting elevator maintenance behavior in elevator hoistway

A method of operating an activity recognition system includes capturing ambient radio frequency (RF) data by an RF sniffer. The ambient RF data is then received by a processor. The processor reduces noise content of the ambient RF data. Background is then subtracted from the ambient RF data by the processor. The processed ambient RF data is then converted into an image by the processor. The system generates successive images for each one of a plurality of time intervals. An image processing algorithm, stored in a storage medium and executed by the processor, is applied to the plurality of successive images to determine activity recognition.
