Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for Fifth Generation New Radio (5G NR) frequency range two (FR2) based communications beam management. The UE may configure, via communications with a base station, serving the UE, a group ID for PUCCH resources within a group of PUCCHs, e.g., for FR2 based communications. The UE may receive, from the base station, an update to one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs via a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) that may include one of a resource ID indicating an update to a PUCCH resource or the group ID to update the group of PUCCH resources. The UE may update, based on the MAC-CE, the one or more PUCCH resources within the group of PUCCHs.

5G NR FR2 beam management enhancements

A device, system and method for a user equipment (UE) to report a network resource and capability state to a network for coordinating network resource allocations. The UE is configured to establish a first connection to a first network based on a first subscriber identity module (SIM) of the UE and further configured to establish a second connection to a second network based on a second SIM of the UE. The method includes determining an upcoming first change of a state of the UE with respect to the first connection and transmitting, to the first network, an indication of the first change of state of the UE. The method further includes changing the state of the UE with respect to the first connection.

Some embodiments include an apparatus, method, and computer program product for using group based reporting for beam management in a 5G wireless communications system. A user equipment (UE) can determine based on a signal-to-interference-plus noise ratio (SINR) or reference signal received power (RSRP) measurement, a ranking of two or more beam combinations, and transmit the ranking to a 5G node B (gNB). The UE can receive from the gNB, a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) codepoint that identifies a combination of two or more beams, where the TCI codepoint is based at least on the ranking. The UE can receive simultaneous transmissions via the combination, and transmit a report to the gNB that identifies by the TCI codepoint, SINRs that corresponds to the combination. In some embodiments the UE can simultaneously transmit on a second combination identified by a sounding reference signal (SRS) resource indicator (SRI) codepoint.

Apparatus and method for group based reporting beam management

Apparatuses, systems, and methods to indicate power transmission capability for a wireless device. A wireless device may connect to a base station (BS). The wireless device may transmit information regarding transmit power capability to the BS. The wireless device may indicate support for full power transmit capability for a subset of TPMIs for which it provides full power transmit capability, e.g., in a bitmap. This subset of TPMIs may be less than all of the available TPMIs (i.e., it may be a strict subset of the available TPMIs). Full power transmission capability of these indicated TPMIs may be provided via antenna switching and/or antenna virtualization. The wireless device may perform uplink transmission to the BS according to the transmit power capability indicated in the information. For example, the UE may transmit data using the antenna virtualization related to the subset of the TPMIs.

Apparatus, system, and method for enhanced mobile station power transmission

This disclosure relates to using a wake up signal in conjunction with cellular communication in unlicensed spectrum. A cellular base station may provide a wake up signal on an unlicensed frequency channel after successful completion of a listen-before-talk procedure. The wake up signal may include a preamble configured for coherent detection, and information indicating channel occupancy time for a cellular communication by the cellular base station and a cell identifier for the cellular base station. A wireless device may monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for a wake up signal, and may determine whether to monitor the unlicensed frequency channel for control channel signaling based on whether a wake up signal is received, and potentially also based on the contents of the wake up signal if a wake up signal is received.

The wireless device may determine a frequency and configuration of modified transmission frames for transmission over an access medium (licensed or unlicensed) and may further determine a timing of the modified transmission frames within a transmission occasion. The wireless device may detect, during a listening period of the modified transmission frame, a collision and may adjust, based, at least in part, on the detected collision, a remaining transmission schedule for the transmission schedule and/or LBT parameters.

Apparatuses, systems, and methods for providing maximum transmit power control when utilizing multiple radio access technologies. For example, a wireless communication device comprising two cellular radios may intend to transmit on the first radio, while concurrently transmitting on the second radio. To ensure compliance with a maximum transmit power limitation, the device may determine an allowed transmit power level of the first radio, representing a difference between the maximum transmit power limitation and the current transmit power level being transmitted by the second radio. The device may also determine a threshold power level for a communication by the first radio. If the allowed transmit power level meets the threshold power level, then the device may transmit the first communication having a power level between the threshold power level and the allowed transmit power level. Otherwise, the device may forego transmission of the first communication.

This disclosure relates to techniques for supporting message mapping via time and/or frequency indexing. For example, these techniques may be applied to device-to-device wireless communication. For example, device to device discovery may use message mapping via frequency indexing. A portion of the payload of a message, such as a discovery message, may be offloaded to a frequency and/or time index. A receiving device may determine the offloaded portion of the payload based on the frequency and/or time (e.g., subcarrier and/or slot) used to transmit the message.

A wireless device may establish a radio resource control connection with a first cell. The wireless device may determine that a second cell strongly interferes with communication with the first cell. The first cell may coordinate with the second cell to transmit data to the wireless device, and to receive data from the wireless device, based at least in part on the indication that the second cell is a strongly interfering cell.

This disclosure relates to techniques for supporting narrowband device-to-device wireless communication, including possible techniques for providing synchronization sequences. A first wireless device may transmit a preamble of a device-to-device wireless communication with a second wireless device. The preamble may include a first synchronization sequence. The first synchronization sequence may include multiple repetitions of a basis sequence, multiplied by a cover code. The basis sequence may span multiple orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbols.
