An electrical connector () for connecting a sheet-like connection member includes an insulating housing () provided with a plurality of conductive terminals () and a pair of retaining members. The housing defines a pair of slots () each with an upper groove () and a lower groove () at a front portion thereof. The retaining members () are embedded in the slots (), and each comprises an upper arm () retained in the upper groove (), a lower arm () received in the lower groove () and a soldering portion () extending from a bottom edge thereof. The lower groove () runs though the housing in an insertion direction of the retaining members ().

A pair of retaining members () is embedded in the slot (), each comprises a retaining portion () retained in the slot (), a bending portion () and a soldering portion () extending from a top edge and a bottom edge thereof respectively. The bending portion () and the solder portion () extend in an adverse direction and the bending portion is abutting against a top portion of the housing.

An electrical connector () includes a housing () defining a cavity () opened to a front face () thereof and a pair of recessed areas () on two side thereof; a plurality of terminals () disposed in the housing and with engagement portions () extending into the cavity; an actuator () movably assembled to the housing, said actuator including an elongated base (), a tongue () extending from a middle section of the base and movable within the cavity, and a pair of side latches () respectively extending from end sections of the base and respectively disposed in the corresponding recessed areas; and a pair of locking ears () respectively assembled to an exterior side of the corresponding recessed area of the housing to define a guiding passageway together with the housing for guiding the movement of the side latch in the recessed area.
