An embodiment of a communication system is provided, in which a high frequency oscillator generates a first high frequency signal upon receipt of no disable signal. The first high frequency signal is commonly shared by at least two modules. Each module coupled to the high frequency oscillator operates in either busy or idle mode, wherein the module operates at the first high frequency signal when in busy mode, and asserts a request signal when in idle mode. A disablement unit, coupled to the first and second modules, asserts the disable signal to the high frequency oscillator when all of the request signals are asserted, thereby forcing the high frequency oscillator to cease the generation of the first high frequency signal.

The present invention relates to a method, applied in a mobile device, for determining operational settings of the device. Country information is retrieved on the device. An operational setting of a function, such as an output signal format, is automatically determined based on the country information.

Methods for determining operational settings and related devices

A communication system and an oscillation signal provision method based thereon are provided. In the communication system, a high frequency oscillator generates a first high frequency signal upon receipt of an enable signal. The first high frequency signal is commonly shared by a first module and a second module. The first module is coupled to the high frequency oscillator, operating in either busy or idle mode, wherein the first module operates at the first high frequency signal when in busy mode. The second module converts the first high frequency signal to a second high frequency signal and operates at the second high frequency signal when in busy mode.

An automatic gain control method used in a wireless receiver is disclosed. The method comprise the following steps: Receiving a first frame, amplifying a RF signal corresponding to the first frame with a gain value and down converting the RF signal to generate a baseband signal. An automatic frequency control (AFC) system applies in a mobile station for automatically controlling a local frequency signal to be substantially synchronized with an input signal which is a first received signal Sfrom a base station, and for being capable of shifting the frequency of the local frequency signal to be close to that of a second received signal Sfrom another base station when the input signal is changed from the first received signal Sto the second received signal S. The AFC system comprises a control module, a memory unit, and an automatic frequency controller. The memory unit stores a plurality of AFC parameter sets; each AFC parameter set corresponds to a base station within the wireless cellular system. When the input signal Sis changed from the first received signal Sto the second received signal S, the control module fetches the AFC parameter set, which corresponds to the second base station, from the memory unit; it then applies the fetched AFC parameter set, which corresponds to the second base station, to the automatic frequency controller to shift the frequency of the local frequency signal fto be close to that of the second received signal Sfrom another base station.

Multiple base station automatic frequency control architecture in wireless communication system

A method of dynamically determining a maximum polyphony number is used in an electronic device, which has S tone generators. First, an operation mode of the electronic device is detected. Next, a residual computing power of the electronic device is obtained according to the operation mode. Then, a maximum polyphony number is determined according to a constant computing power, which is required to synthesize a polyphony, and the residual computing power. Next, the states of T tone generators of the S tone generators are set to be an ON state according to the maximum polyphony number, wherein T is a positive integer and is smaller than or equal to S.
