A surgical microscope for generating an image of an object region includes an eyepiece and an objective conjointly defining a viewing beam path, an image capturing device and a beam path switching device for out-coupling image information. The switching device is switchable between a first switching state wherein light in the viewing beam path is split into a first component along a first beam path to the eyepiece at an intensity ITand a second component along a second beam path to the image capturing device at an intensity ITand a second switching state wherein the light in the viewing beam path is deflected into the second beam path to the image capturing device at an intensity IU. The switching device includes a beam splitter movable in and out of the viewing beam path and a deflecting element movable into and out of the viewing beam path.

Surgical microscope with at least one beam path switching device

A computer-implemented method and a corresponding system for context-sensitive white balancing for a stereomicroscope are presented. The method comprises recording a first digital image by way of a first camera in a first optical path of the stereomicroscope, and recording a second digital image by way of a second camera in a second optical path of the stereomicroscope. Furthermore, the method comprises determining, by means of a trained machine learning system, the context identified in the images, and determining, by means of the trained machine learning system, camera parameters suitable for controlling color channels of the first and second cameras for white balancing.

Context-sensitive white balancing for surgical microscopes

A microscope, comprising an observation beam path that renders an eye to be examined observable, a wavefront measuring device for measuring the refraction of the eye to be examined, an OCT device comprising an OCT illumination beam path, by means of which OCT illumination radiation can be focused as an OCT spot into the eye to be examined, and a control unit that is supplied with at least one measurement value of the wave front measuring device, is provided, wherein the control unit sets the beam diameter and/or the beam shape of the OCT spot on the basis of the at least one supplied measurement value.

The controller may adjust a magnification of the representation of the intraoperative OCT image and/or a magnification of the representation of the preoperative OCT image so that the magnifications of the representation of the intraoperative OCT image and the magnification of the representation of the preoperative OCT image are equal.
