Wrist bandage, consisting of an anatomically shaped section which receives the wrist and the hand and which is formed from a single piece of flexible and elastic material, the section narrowing in the proximal direction, the section having, on the medial edge, a cutout for receiving the thumb, and with at least two straps secured on the medial edge, which straps can be secured on the dorsal side of the bandage, and with a pocket which is secured on the palmar side of the bandage, in particular sewn thereon, in such a way that the centre axis of the pocket forms an inwardly directed arch.

Backing materials which have been given a self-adhesive treatment on at least one side, characterized in that the self-adhesive composition is a pressure-sensitive hotmelt adhesive composition which at a frequency of 0.1 rad/s has a dynamic-complex glass transition temperature of less than &minus;3&deg; C., preferably from &minus;6&deg; C. to &minus;30&deg; C. and, with particular preference, from &minus;9&deg; C. to &minus;25&deg; C., and their use, in particular, for producing medical products such as plasters, bandages or dressings.

A support brace for knee or elbow is provided that includes a sleeve of elastic material that is unidirectionally elastic in a transverse direction across the width of the brace to provide compressive support to the joint on which the brace is worn. The sleeve includes a front portion across which is disposed one or more slightly spiral shaped, or 'S' shaped, support straps. The support straps are unidirectionally elastic in a longitudinal direction along their lengths to provide lift support to the joint on which the brace is worn.
