Two-component solventless polyurethane adhesive compositions are disclosed comprising an isocyanate component comprising an isocyanate, and a polyol component comprising an amine-initiated polyol comprising two or more primary hydroxyl groups and a backbone incorporating tertiary amines, wherein the amine-initiated polyol comprises a functionality of from 2 to 12, a hydroxyl number of from 5 to 1,830, and a viscosity at 40° C. of from 500 to 20,000 mPa-s, and a silicone-based additive (e.g., an anti-foaming agent and/or a wetting agent). The adhesive compositions are formulated such that the isocyanate and polyol components can be applied to separate substrates prior to mixing. Laminate structures comprising the disclosed adhesive compositions and further comprising a metal or metallized substrate are also disclosed.

Two-component solventless adhesive compositions for adhesion to metal and/or metallized substrates

A polyolefin-based laminating adhesive composition for use in producing a mechanical recyclable material, the adhesive composition including a mixture of: (a) at least one saturated polyolefin polyol; and (b) at least one aliphatic multi-functional isocyanate compound; a process for producing the above adhesive composition; a mechanically recyclable multi-layer laminate including: (A) at least one first film substrate layer; (B) at least one second film substrate layer; and (C) at least one layer of the above polyolefin-based laminating adhesive composition; wherein the at least one first film substrate layer is bonded to the at least one second film substrate layer via the adhesive composition layer; a process for producing the above mechanically recyclable multi-layer laminate; and a packaging article made from the above mechanically recyclable multi-layer laminate.

Recyclable laminate

A process comprises (i) providing an isocyanate component A that is a reaction product of an aliphatic polyisocyanate, an aromatic polyisocyanate, an aliphatic polyester polyol, and a polyether polyol; (ii) providing a polyol component B comprising an aliphatic polyester polyol and a polyether polyol; (iii) mixing A and B to form a solventless adhesive (SLA) composition component A and component B each comprises an aliphatic polyester polyol having a viscosity from 800 to 6000 mPa·s at 25° C. and a hydroxyl number from 60 to 180 mg KOH/g; the SLA composition has (a) an initial viscosity at 40° C. from 500 to 1600 mPa·s, (b) an increasing viscosity ratio from 100% to 112% of the initial viscosity after the SLA composition stands at 40° C. for 10 min, and (c) an end viscosity at 40° C. from 120% to 210% of the initial viscosity at 40 min after forming the SLA composition.

Solventless adhesive composition process and laminate with same

The present disclosure provides a two-component solvent-less adhesive composition. The two-component solvent-less adhesive composition contains the reaction product of (A) an isocyanate component; and (B) a polyol component containing (i) a polyester-polycarbonate polyol and (ii) a phosphate-terminated polyol. The present disclosure also provides a method of forming the two-component solvent-less adhesive composition.

The present disclosure provides a two-component solvent-less adhesive composition. The two-component solvent-less adhesive composition contains the reaction product of (A) an isocyanate component and (B) a polyol component containing a poly-ester-amide polycarbonate polyol. The present disclosure also provides a method of forming a two-component solvent-less adhesive composition.

Solvent-based adhesive composition are disclosed, the compositions comprising (A) a polyester-urethane resin, (B) an epoxy-terminated polyester compound, (C) a phosphoric acid, and (D) an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent. Methods for preparing a solvent-based adhesive composition, the methods comprising providing a polyester-urethane resin, providing an epoxy-terminated polyester compound, mixing the polyester-urethane resin, epoxy-terminated polyester compound, and phosphoric acid to form a resin mixture, diluting the resin mixture in a solvent to form a diluted resin mixture having an application solid content from 25 to 55 weight percent, based on the total weight of the diluted resin mixture, and curing the diluted resin mixture with an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent at a mix ratio (parts by weight resin mixture before dilution:parts by weight aliphatic isocyanate curing agent) of from 100:1 to 100:12. Laminates prepared comprising the solvent-based adhesives and according to the disclosed methods are also disclosed.

Solvent-based adhesive composition are disclosed, the compositions comprising (A) a polyester-urethane resin, (B) a phosphate ester compound, and (C) an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent. Methods for preparing a solvent-based adhesive composition, the methods comprising providing a polyester-urethane resin, providing a phosphate ester compound, mixing the polyester-urethane resin and phosphate ester compound to form a resin mixture, diluting the resin mixture in a solvent to form a diluted resin mixture having an application solid content of from 25 to 55 weight percent, based on the total weight of the diluted resin mixture, and curing the diluted resin mixture with an aliphatic isocyanate curing agent at a mix ratio (parts by weight resin mixture before dilution:parts by weight aliphatic isocyanate curing agent) of from 100:1 to 100:12. Laminates prepared comprising the solvent-based adhesives and according to the disclosed methods are also disclosed.

The present disclosure provides a two-component solvent-based adhesive composition. Two-component solventless adhesive compositions comprising an amine-initiated polyol

Methods for forming a laminate structure comprising a two-component solventless polyurethane adhesive compositions are disclosed. The adhesive composition is formulated such that each component is applied independently to corresponding substrates prior to the substrates being brought together to form the laminate structure. The adhesive compositions are highly-reactive and can comprise amine-initiated polyols or catalysts providing for fast curing. The amine-initiated polyols comprise a functionality of from 2 to 12, a hydroxyl number of from 5 to 1,830, and a viscosity at 40 C of from 500 to 20,000 mPa-s. The catalyst can be bismuth catalysts, zinc catalysts, zirconium catalysts, tin catalysts, and aluminum catalysts. Still further, a laminate formed according to the methods is disclosed.

Method for forming a laminate comprising a two-component solventless adhesive composition including an amine-initiated polyl

Laminates of polymeric films and solvent-based polyurethane adhesive formulations for preparing them are provided. The adhesive formulations include a hydroxyl-terminated polyester that forms crystalline polyester domains after reaction with an appropriate polyisocyanate, but prior to completion of cure. The result is an adhesive layer that substantially enhances the oxygen barrier properties of the adhesive and, therefore, of the laminate as a whole, while offering desirable convenience of application even at relatively low temperatures. The laminates may also exhibit desirable retention of barrier properties following flex-cracking.
