A transmitting device and a receiving device for reliable reception of control messages such as downlink control information is provided. The transmitting device forms a control message which comprises control information, a first CRC word (W1) and a second CRC word (W2). The control message is sent to the receiving device which obtains a first CRC check outcome based on performing a first CRC check on the control message, and a second CRC check outcome based on performing a second CRC check on the control message. Thereby, more reliable reception of control messages is possible. Furthermore, the present application also relates to corresponding methods and a computer program.

The application relates to maintaining time-synchronization of a wireless connection between a network access node and a client device. The wireless connection may be configured for services with latency constraints. In one example, based on an expiry of a time alignment timer for the client device, the network access node transmits a control message to the client device. The LPNs transmit an associated discovery signal based on the timing of the associated small cell. The serving cell is configured to determine the timing of the cells and therefore the transmission pattern of the discovery signals and the serving cell configures measurement gaps such that the discovery signals are transmitted during the measurement gaps. The network is adapted to accomplish this for various degrees of granularity and timing measurement inaccuracies by placing the measurement gaps and/or adjusting the discovery signal (DS) transmission scheme accordingly.

A cellular telecommunications system and method of scheduling a group of user equipments is provided. The system includes a macro cell with a macro base station and multiple associated low power nodes (LPN's). The macro base station and the LPN's share the same cell ID. The system and method provide for scheduling a group of UE's by grouping a plurality of the UE's together, assigning a group identifier to the group, notifying the group and encoding a control channel with the group identifier. A single control channel is delivered to each UE in the group of UE's. The UE's of the group of UE's may be processed by different LPN's. The transmitted control channel may be included in a DCI (downlink control information) and delivers uplink scheduling grants to the UE's. Based on the transmitted control channel, the UE's are scheduled for uplink transmission.
