A lever mechanism for sealing a telecommunications closure includes a plurality of hinge elements; a leveraging element extending upwardly from each hinge element; an arm section extending from the leveraging element; a biasing element downwardly extending from the arm section; and a handle coupled to the biasing element such that upon application of a compressive force to at least a portion of the handle, each hinge element, each leveraging element, each arm section, and each biasing element moves, allowing the lever mechanism to change from a non-actuated position to an actuated position. The lever mechanism is further configured to couple with a spring-activated element and environmentally seal the telecommunications closure.

Compression mechanisms for cable sealing on closures

A sealing body for a cable sleeve for an optical fiber cable is disclosed. The sealing body has a central, cylindrical sealing body segment. The central, cylindrical sealing body segment has, on an outer casing surface, a plurality of cutouts distributed over the circumference thereof, in each case one cylinder-segment-like sealing body segment being capable of being inserted into each of the cutouts of the central sealing body segment, and in each case one cable insertion opening for receiving and individually sealing off in each case one single cable being formed between the central sealing body segment and each cylinder-segment-like sealing body segment. Each of the cylinder-segment-like sealing body segment has a gel-like sealing element, which can be compressed individually independently of the sealing elements of other cylinder-segment-like sealing body segments in order to individually seal off the cable inserted into the respective cable insertion opening.

Sealing body for a cable sleeve

A cable sleeve for the structured storage and handling of optical waveguides guided in optical waveguide cables is disclosed. The cable sleeve comprises a covering body, which defines an interior. The cable sleeve also comprises a sealing body comprising two dimensionally stable end pieces and a compressible gel element arranged between the end pieces. The sealing body is adapted to be inserted into an opening of the covering body and is operable for feeding optical waveguide cables into the interior and/or for feeding optical waveguide cables out of the interior. The sealing body bears against a stop with an inner one of the two dimensionally stable end pieces. A locking body can be screwed to an outer one of the two dimensionally stable end pieces of the sealing body while compressing the gel element. At least one compensation element is operable for storing the force applied via the locking body and exerting a compression force onto the gel element.

Cable sleeve for the structured storage and handling of optical waveguides guided in optical waveguide cables

An apparatus for restraining fiber optic cables in the region of a sealing body of a cable sleeve, namely within an interior delimited by the cable sleeve is disclosed. The apparatus has a fitting part which is capable of being fastened on the sealing body of the cable sleeve, and which has a plurality of slide parts acting on the fitting part. Each slide part is used for individually restraining a single fiber optic cable and is capable of being moved in terms of its position relative to the fitting part within predetermined limits for the purpose of matching said slide part to a cable diameter of the respective fiber optic cable to be restrained. Guide parts act on the slide parts, with each guide part being used for individually restraining a central element of the fiber optic cable to be restrained on the corresponding slide part and being capable of being moved in terms of its position relative to the slide part within predetermined limits for the purpose of aligning said slide part centrally with respect to the central element of the respective fiber optic cable to be restrained.

Apparatus for restraining fiber optic cables

A cable sleeve for the structured storage and handling of optical waveguides guided in optical waveguide cables is disclosed. The cable sleeve comprises a covering body defining an interior. A sealing body comprising two dimensionally stable end pieces and a compressible gel element arranged between the end pieces is adapted to be insert into an opening of the covering body and operable for feeding optical waveguide cables into the interior and/or for feeding optical waveguide cables out of the interior. Spring elements are integrated into the interior of a covering body. When the sealing body is inserted into the opening of the covering body and compressed, the spring elements bear against one of the dimensionally stable end pieces of the sealing body and exert a compression force onto the gel element.

A splice protection sleeve flange includes means for clamping a cable, a seal interposed between two rings, one of which can move along the cable, and a frustoconical threaded part which is screwed into the flange and acts both on the moveable ring and on the clamping means. In another aspect, a device for clamping a cable includes a ring on which fingers are each mounted in the form of a hinge, the free end of each finger terminating in a claw turned inwardly towards the axis YY' of the ring and, on the side of the plane where the fingers do not lie, there is provided a means which, by shape complementarity, is intended to cooperate with another clamping device of the same shape but having a ring diameter greater or smaller than a value equal to the largest radial dimension of the fingers.

A splice protection sleeve includes two half-shells provided with means for assembling them into a shell and at least two end flanges, each of them consisting of sub-flanges assembled by assembling means so as to form an opening for the passage of a cable, the assembling means including two dovetail bars and a wedge joining the two bars together. Furthermore, in a splice protection sleeve according to the invention, the half-shell includes, on the inner face, a cam which extends in the circumferential direction and is followed in this direction by a housing and the flange includes a stub intended to push the cam back before entering the housing.

The inventive sealing body (DK) is comprised of a number of segments (DS DS DS ) in whose sealing chambers (DKAA, DKAM) a sealing block (DBAS, DBMS) is arranged that is made of an easily deformable, in particular, gel-like substance. Tabs (ZE) which conically extend toward one another serve to center the cable which is inserted into the sealing body (DK) and held therein. Wedges (K) which can be actuated from the outside act upon assigned pressure elements (DE), which deform the corresponding sealing block (DBAS, DBMS) thus displacing the gel-like substance in a radial direction.
