Pyrotechnic signaling means () are ignited manually by pulling on a pulling member (). In known pyrotechnic signaling means (), the pulling member () has a short cable which is knotted to an operating means (). A knot such as this can be produced only manually, thus making the production of pyrotechnic signaling means () quite complex. In addition, an ignition device () for known pyrotechnic signaling means () has a hole through it for a firing bolt () which is connected to the pulling member (). This allows moisture to enter the pyrotechnic signaling means () through the ignition device (). The pyrotechnic signaling means () according to the invention provides for the pulling member () to be formed from flexible strip-like sections (), which are connected by film hinges () and can be collapsed, saving space, when not in use. The sections () can be integrally connected to an operating means (), such that the entire pulling member () can be formed integrally from plastic and manual fitting of the individual components of the pulling member () is superfluous. The invention also provides for the ignition device () to be sealed by a coupling device () of the pulling member () until the pyrotechnic signaling means () are activated. This means that no moisture can pass through the ignition device () before the pyrotechnic signaling means () are activated.

Pyrotechnic signaling means

The invention provides for exchanging a complete luminous unit () instead of exchanging the individual components such as a battery (). For this purpose, at least one energy-saving light-emitting diode () as luminous means, a battery () and a magnetically actuable reed contact () serving as switching element are combined as luminous unit (). The use of a cost-effective light-emitting diode () and a battery () formed in space-saving fashion in accordance with the low power demand of the light-emitting diode () permits a compact configuration of the luminous unit (). The fact that the luminous unit () can be inserted into the floating body () as a unit and can be exchanged as a unit obviates a complicated battery change or change of luminous means entailing the risk of leaks.

Projectile simulation means serve for an acoustic and/or optical representation of the firing of canons or the like. The projectile simulation means are arranged in a pivotable receiving plate of a firing apparatus. There is a danger that, when pivoting the receiving plate for closing the firing apparatus, the projectile simulation means drop out of the receiving plate. According to the invention, the projectile simulation means are provided with spring tongues (27) which project from the outside of the casing (11) and are pressed together when pushing-in the projectile simulation means into the receiving plate. In this manner, the spring tongues (27) are resiliently preloaded, as a result of which they hold the projectile simulation means in the receiving plate in a hook-lie manner.

Projectile simulation means

Gas generators having mechanical triggering have a cylindrical casing in which the various component parts are accommodated. The assembly of known gas generators is rather complex because of the different component parts. In the gas generator according to the invention the individual component parts are distributed in such a manner that essentially three units are formed, namely a priming agent, a pyrotechnic charge and an ignition unit comprising a holder means and an ignition charge. The priming agent is separated from the pyrotechnic charge by the ignition unit. The gas generator constructed in this way permits simple charging of the casing with the priming agent, the pyrotechnic charge and the ignition unit.
