A communications system for a motor vehicle, including a plurality of electrical components, a data bus structure to which the components are connected in order to transmit information among the components, and a power line structure to which the components are connected in order to be supplied with power. The information is transmitted in successive cycles over the data bus structure, each cycle including at least one time window for transmitting information at specific points in time and at least one event window for transmitting information in response to specific events. The communications system includes an arrangement for redundantly transmitting information which merely transmits the information transmitted in the at least one time window over the data bus structure at least partially over the power line structure as well.

Method and communications system for transmitting information in a motor vehicle

A device for simulating a data transmission via a data transmission network, especially in a motor vehicle, for evaluating the transmission quality via the network as a function of an interference environment and of a channel characteristic of the network. To be able to draw a conclusion regarding transmission quality that is as reliable and as close to reality as possible, the device receives at least one modulated input signal to be transmitted via the network, that it receives a description of a simulated interference environment, that it receives a description of a simulated channel characteristics of the network, and that it features a logic module which is programmed in such a way that an output signal is computed according to a specifiable algorithm as a function of the received signal and taking into consideration the description of the interference environment and the description of the channel characteristic, the output signal allowing for a conclusion regarding the quality of transmission via the network.

Device and method for simulating a data transmission via a data transmission network

A method is described for establishing one user from multiple users of a data network as a pilot master for emitting a pilot signal, to which the other users of the data network may synchronize themselves. In the related art, a pilot signal is typically generated by a separate pilot signal generator or a permanently predefined selected user. However, this has the disadvantage that if the pilot signal generator or the selected user malfunctions, synchronization and therefore also communication of the users with one another via the data network is no longer possible. In order to avoid this disadvantage, it is suggested that at least two of the users of the data network be implemented to be pilot-master-capable and one of them assume the pilot mastership according to a described method.

A supply line structure for supplying energy to electrical components of a motor vehicle, and for the transmission of information between at least a portion of the components (so-called Powerline Communications). To improve the channel characteristics of the information transmission via the supply line structure, it is proposed that the supply lines be arranged in a star configuration having at least one star point, the or each star point an impedance which corresponds to the characteristic impedance of the individual supply line branches running into it. To that end, it is proposed in particular that at the or each star point, an additional series resistor, frequency-dependent for frequencies below 100 MHz, be disposed in the incoming supply line branches. The series resistor is preferably configured as a ferrite sleeve.

A method and a supply line structure for transmitting information between electrical components in a motor vehicle is described. The information is transmitted over a data bus. At least some of the components are powered via a supply line structure. To make the transmission of information between the components fail-safe, the information is also transmitted over the supply line structure in addition to over the data bus at least after a failure of the data bus.

Method and supply line structure for transmitting data between electrical automotive components

A method and a computer program for modeling an interfering pulse in a vehicle electric system are described. Previous approaches for synthesizing such interfering pulses have proven to be insufficiently realistic for the simulation of certain application cases. An interfering pulse is therefore modeled by random determination of the parameters of the parameter set representing the interfering pulse to be modeled on the basis of the density functions belonging to the parameters and by substituting the parameters thus obtained into a predetermined mathematical function. The interfering pulse modeled in this way is also a suitable starting point for modeling a pulse pattern, i.e., a random sequence of individually spaced interfering pulses and a pulse interferer scenario, i.e., a random sequence of individually spaced pulse patterns.

A transmitter/receiver device for a motor vehicle component connected to a communications network, and includes at least one transmitter unit for transmitting data over the communications network, and at least one receiver unit for receiving data over the communications network. The communications network is used for transmitting data between the component and further components connected to the communications network. To ensure a reliable, efficient, and interference-resistant communication between the different components within the motor vehicle, the transmitter/receiver device contains a plurality of transmitter units, each transmitter unit providing at least one separate channel for transmitting data over the communications network; and/or that the transmitter/receiver device contain a plurality of receiver units, each receiver unit providing at least one separate channel for receiving data over the communications network.

A supply line structure for supplying energy to the electrical components of an automotive vehicle and for transmitting information between at least some of the electrical components, the supply lines being disposed, in particular in a star structure having at least one star point; in order to be able to transmit high supply currents, the supply line structure is configured in such a way that at least a part of the supply lines includes a coaxial arrangement of a plurality of outer litz wires about a central litz wire.

A device for wireless transmission of a trigger signal, in particular for a restraint system, which has a redundancy path to ensure reliable triggering of a restraint system, is proposed. On a primary side of a transmitter a redundancy unit is arranged; this generates a redundancy signal from a trigger command, the redundancy signal being detected by an enable unit on the secondary side in order to enable a trigger circuit for the restraint system, the trigger circuit then being triggered by an evaluation unit on the secondary side via a trigger signal. The trigger circuit triggers a restraint system.
