Compounds of Formula I are inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication: wherein X, X, Y, R, R, Rand Rare defined herein. The compounds are useful for the prophylaxis or treatment of infection by HIV and the prophylaxis, treatment, or delay in the onset or progression of AIDS. The compounds are employed against HIV infection and AIDS as compounds per se (or as hydrates or solvates thereof) or in the form of pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The compounds and their salts can be employed as ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions, optionally in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Processes for making compounds of Formula I and intermediates thereof are also described.

HIV integrase inhibitors

Compounds of Formula I are inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication: wherein Z, R, R, R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rare defined herein. The compounds are useful in the prevention and treatment of infection by HIV and in the prevention, delay in the onset, and treatment of AIDS. The compounds are employed against HIV infection and AIDS as compounds per se or in the form of pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The compounds and their salts can be employed as ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions, optionally in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines.

Hydroxy-substituted pyrazinopyrrolopyridazine dione compounds are inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication. In one embodiment, the dione compounds are of Formula (I) wherein R, R, R, R, R, Rand Rare defined herein. The compounds are useful in the prevention and treatment of infection by HIV and in the prevention, delay in the onset, and treatment of AIDS. The compounds are employed against HIV infection and AIDS as compounds per se or in the form of pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The compounds and their salts can be employed as ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions, optionally in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. 

8,9-Dihydroxydihydropyridopyrazine-1,6-diones and 8,9-dihydroxypyridopyrazine-1,6-diones are inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication. In one embodiment, the pyridopyrazinediones are of Formula (I): (I), wherein R, R, R, Rand Rare defined herein. The compounds are useful in the prevention and treatment of infection by HIV and in the prevention, delay in the onset, and treatment of AIDS. The compounds are employed against HIV infection and AIDS as compounds per se or in the form of pharmaceutically acceptable salts. The compounds and their salts can be employed as ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions, optionally in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Methods of preventing, treating or delaying the onset of AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are described. 

Dihydroxypyridopyrazine-1,6-dione compounds useful as HIV integrase inhibitors

Hydroxy pyridopyrrolopyrazine dione compounds useful as HIV integrase inhibitors

Aza- and polyaza-naphthalenyl carboxamide derivatives including certain quinoline carboxamide and naphthyridine carboxamide derivatives are described. These compounds are inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication, and are useful in the prevention or treatment of infection by HIV and the treatment of AIDS, as compounds or pharmaceutically acceptable salts, or as ingredients in pharmaceutical compositions, optionally in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Methods of preventing, treating or delaying the onset of AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are also described.

Aza- and polyaza-naphthalenyl carboxamides useful as HIV integrase inhibitors

Certain six-membered aromatic and heteroaromatic-dioxobutyric acid derivatives are described as inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication. These compounds are useful in the prevention or treatment of infection by HIV and the treatment of AIDS, either as compounds, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, pharmaceutical composition ingredients, whether or not in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Methods of treating AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are also described.

Sulfur-containing heteroaryl dioxo-butyric acid derivatives are described as inhibitors of HIV integrase and inhibitors of HIV replication. These compounds are useful in the prevention or treatment of infection by HIV and the treatment of AIDS, either as compounds, pharmaceutically acceptable salts, pharmaceutical composition ingredients, whether or not in combination with other antivirals, immunomodulators, antibiotics or vaccines. Methods of treating AIDS and methods of preventing or treating infection by HIV are also described.

The invention is further directed to chemotherapeutic compositions containing the compounds of this invention and methods for inhibiting farnesyl-protein transferase and the farnesylation of the oncogene protein Ras.

Described are new agents for treating bone disorders associated with a reduction in bone mass and abnormalities in bone resportion or bone formation including osteoporosis. Paget's disease, bone metastases and malignant hypercalcemia. The agents are hydroxyl containing steroidal hormones, having bone resportion antagonist or bone formation stimulatory activity, covalently linked through the hydroxyl group via a bond hydrolyzable in the human body, e.g. carbamate or carbonate, which is further covalently linked to an amino, or hydroxy substituted alkylidene-1,1-bisphosphonate, through the respective amino or hydroxy group. The alkyl bisphosphonate moiety confers bone affinity. The agent acts by delivering the steroidal hormone directly to the bone target site where it is released for bone resorption antagonist or bone formation stimulatory action by hydrolysis of the hydrolyzable covalent bond.
