An explosion-proof housing, preferably of the 'flameproof enclosure' protection type, wherein the housing comprises a plurality of, preferably cast, wall modules.

Modular system for producing a housing

A module for producing a housing, in particular a housing of the 'flameproof enclosure' protection type, is provided, wherein the housing surrounds an interior space suitable for accommodating components that can form ignition sources. The module establishes at least one module interior space, which is fluidically connected to the interior space of the housing via a connection opening. The module can be used to produce vented housings having different interior volumes.

Housing having cast pressure relief means

A pressure relief body sintered from a wire mesh and retained on an explosion-proof housing by welding. The corresponding welded seam has a fusion zone both on the pressure relief body and on the housing part and makes a mechanically robust and gas-tight joint between the two.

Welded pressure relief device

A housing arrangement comprising a housing an inner space for accommodating components capable of forming sources of ignition. The housing arrangement further comprises a partial housing arranged in or on the housing and the interior space. The interior space acts as a pressure relief volume. The interior space and the pressure relief volume are connected together via a passage in which a gas-permeable and flame-arresting arrangement is provided. This can be formed from a porous body, for instance, which is gas permeable and acts in a throttling and cooling manner on a gas flow passing through it.

Explosion-proof housing with inner pressure relief

A housing arrangement comprising a housing wall with internal cavities which contribute to relieving the pressure in the interior and to increasing the deformation resistance of the housing. A housing of this kind can be designed to be large in volume yet light in weight.
