The present invention relates to a graphical user interface for arranging music, comprising a first display section showing different tracks and a second display section showing a first channel strip and a second channel strip. Preferably, the second channel strip shows the output routing or the destination of a Send of the first channel strip. The present invention also relates to a process for arranging music using the graphical user interface described above. The process allows that the channel associated with the second channel strip is automatically created when the associated bus is addressed for the first time as a Send or output destination in the first channel strip.

A method, electronic device and non-transitory computer readable storage medium for simple and intuitive audio editing of multiple notes at once in an audio editing application. Audio editing can include selecting, inserting, and modifying multiple notes at once with respect to a time interval, including using a brush pattern tool to insert some or all of a stored pattern of notes, and using a time stretch tool to expand, contract, or reverse a set of selected notes.

Method and system of note selection and manipulation

A processor implements methods, systems, and computer program products for detecting transients in an audio file. The method includes dividing the audio file into segments. Transients can be detected both in a full band signal of the audio file and one or more band-pass filtered signals of the audio file. A weight value can be assigned to each transient detected in both the full band signal and band-pass filtered signals. Transients that are below a predetermined threshold value can be eliminated. The time position of each remaining transient is determined and displayed in the audio file.

A computer implemented method allows a user to adjust tracks in a musical arrangement. The method involves a user selecting a musical position of an audio track, which the user desires to adjust in time, either by compressing it or expanding it, by indicating with a pointing device, such as a mouse, the position in the time line of the audio track that the user wishes to alter. A first marker is then displayed at the selected musical position in the audio track. Boundary markers defining transients in the audio signal surrounding the selected musical position are then automatically generated by analysis of the audio signal, and are displayed on the audio track. The two boundary markers define an audio segment that is to be adjusted in tempo by the user moving the first marker along the time line.

Time compression/expansion of selected audio segments in an audio file

This disclosure relates to a method for recording and compiling a music section, wherein multiple takes of the music section are recorded; and wherein the method uses a take folder to store the multiple takes. The take folder may belong to a single track. Sections of one or more takes can be selected to be part of a resulting compilation which is composed of the selected sections. In one embodiment, a method automatically ensures that selected sections do not overlap in time and that there are no breaks between adjacent selections. In addition, the present invention relates to programs, a storage media and data processing systems having the above features as well as to a storage medium containing the music produced thereby.
