A device and method for providing a medical solution is described. The device comprises a first chamber adapted to have a defined volume, the first chamber is configured to be connected to a liquid providing system to fill the first chamber with the defined volume of liquid. A connector for connecting a container including at least one powder; the connector has an inlet and an outlet. A channel connecting the first chamber with the inlet of the connector, and an outlet for distributing the medical solution. The device is configured to mix the at least one powder with the defined volume of liquid for a period of time, and wherein the device is configured to fill the first chamber with the liquid from the liquid providing system while mixing the medical solution and/or distributing the mixed medical solution through the outlet.

Device and system providing a medical solution and a method thereof

A container () comprising a plurality of compartments (A, B, C) separated by compartment dividers (), and an inlet connector () for receiving a liquid via a connection tube (). The compartment dividers rupture when a sufficient pressure is applied by a liquid or gas introduced into the container () through the inlet connector (). Some of the compartments comprise powder, which dissolves at the introduction of liquid into the container. A system, process and use in the field of dialysis are also disclosed.

Container, system and method for providing a solution

A container for mixing an enclosed medical agent with a fluid. The container comprising an inclining bottom seam directed towards a connector. The connector comprising an elongated hollow body having a plurality of interconnected walls defining a first and a second longitudinal flow channel for fluidly connecting an inside and an outside of the container. The first flow channel has a first opening and a second opening, the first opening of the first flow channel is devised to be arranged inside of the container and the second opening of the first flow channel is devised to be arranged outside the container. The first opening of the first flow channel is arranged radially outwards from the first flow channel and directed towards said inclined bottom seam. The second flow channel has a first opening devised to be arranged inside of said container and a second opening devised to be arranged outside the container arranged axially to the first opening of the second flow channel.

Container and connector for providing a medical solution

An access disconnection method for a machine employing a blood circuit, the blood circuit having a machine segment and a patient access segment, the method comprising: injecting an electrical signal into the blood circuit between the machine segment and the patient access segment; attempting to cause the electrical signal to flow through only the patient access segment and to bypass the machine segment; and measuring the signal in the patient access segment and determining that an access disconnection event has occurred upon a threshold change in the measured signal.

Systems and methods for dialysis access disconnection

Apparatuses, devices, systems and methods for detecting access disconnection are provided. In one embodiment, a medical fluid system includes (i) a medical fluid machine and (ii) a device operable with the medical fluid machine, the device configured to provide electrical contact with a medical fluid, the device including (a) a tube used during dialysis therapy through which the medical fluid can flow, and (b) a conductive element configured to self-sealingly pierce the tube, the conductive element having a first portion exposed to the medical fluid and a second portion external to the tube.

Access disconnection systems and methods

Apparatuses, devices, systems and methods for detecting access disconnection are provided. The present invention includes electrical contacts in fluid and electrical communication with a fluid passing between a patient and a medical system during therapy. In this regard, the present invention can use a direct-contact measurement to detect access disconnection, such as dislodgment of an access device from the patient through which fluid can flow during therapy including, for example, medication delivery, dialysis therapy and the like.

Access disconnection system and methods

Method and device for determining in dialysis treatment the content of waste products in the outgoing dialysis liquid from the dialyzer. Measurement of the concentration of a certain substance or a combination of substances included in the waste products is effected spectrophotometrically directly on the outgoing dialysis liquid from the dialyzer. For that purpose there is provided after the dialyzer in or after the dialysing machine a measuring cell for spectrophotometric measurement. The measurement value obtained is multiplied by the flow of dialysis liquid for determining the content of said substance or said combination of substances in the outgoing dialysis liquid from the dialyzer.

Method for determining waste products in the dialysis liquid in dialysis treatment

A sterile disposable hemodiafiltration set to be connected to a dialysis machine includes a dialyzer with an extracorporeal blood path and a dialysis liquid supply line which can be connected to the dialyzer. The hemodiafiltration set includes a sterilized unit consisting of a hose connection with a sterile filter therein wherein the hose connection is arranged for connection at one end thereof to the extracorporeal path via a separate pump and provided with a three-way joint at the other end thereof for connection of the latter end between the dialysis liquid supply line and the dialyzer.

Dialyzers and methods are disclosed for performing shortened extracorporeal blood treatments. A flow restriction is provided in a dialyzer serving to partially impede flow of dialysate through the dialysate compartment of the dialyzer. As a result, the pressure of the dialysate upstream of the flow restriction is sufficient to cause the pressure profile of the dialysate from the dialysate inlet to the dialysate outlet of the dialyzer to be non-linear, in contrast to prior-art dialyzers. This perturbation of the dialysate pressure profile permits a single dialyzer to be used to remove large amounts of blood water from a patient's blood and re-infuse large amounts of liquid to the blood while still attaining a desired net ultrafiltration of the patient without the need for more than one dialyzer per treatment or for a separate replacement fluid.
