A power cable measurement system for facilitating measurements of a power cable terminated at an electrical substation and connected to an overhead busbar, including: a first movable structure provided with a first busbar connector, and a measurement equipment connector device configured to be electrically connected to the first busbar connector and to measurement equipment, wherein the first movable structure is configured to be maneuvered between a default lowered position in which the first busbar connector is disconnected from the overhead busbar, and a temporary elevated position in which the first busbar connector is set in electrical connection with the overhead busbar to provide an electrical connection between the overhead busbar and the measurement equipment connector device.

Power cable measurement system

A bend stiffener including a body tapering from a base to a top. The body has a central through-opening, extending from the base to the top, which is arranged to receive a subsea cable or umbilical, and a first bend indicator arranged on the body. The first bend indicator has a proximal portion having a fixed end which is fixed relative to the body and a distal portion which has a free end. The first bend indicator extending from the fixed end to the free end in the axial direction of the body. The distal portion covers a bend indication portion of the bend stiffener, which bend indication portion has a first visual appearance, and which distal portion has a second visual appearance. The first visual appearance differs from a visual appearance of an area of the bend stiffener surrounding the bend indication portion.

A bundle of cables includes at least two underwater cables and a fastener for fastening the underwater cables together. The fastener is water-soluble, biologically decomposable and/or chemically decomposable. A method of laying at least two underwater cables simultaneously from a vessel and a method of using a water-soluble, biologically decomposable and/or chemically decomposable fastener to fasten at least two underwater cables together to form a bundle of cables are also described.

An apparatus and a method for jointing a first optical fiber and a second optical fiber, the apparatus includes a composite cable, where the composite cable includes an electric power cable, a first optical fiber cable including the first optical fiber, and a second optical fiber cable including the second optical fiber, wherein the apparatus includes a first routing device and a second routing device, each routing device being arranged to change the direction of a fiber optic path from a first axis to a second axis and including a first optical fiber portion aligned with the first axis, a second optical fiber portion aligned with the second axis, and an intermediate optical fiber portion integral with the first and second optical fiber portions and extending through an arc between the first and second optical fiber portions, the intermediate optical fiber portion in the region of the arc having a reduced diameter in relation to the diameter of the first and second optical fiber portions, wherein the first optical fiber is optically connected to the first optical fiber portion of the first routing device, wherein the second optical fiber is optically connected to the first optical fiber portion of the second routing device, and wherein the second optical fiber portion of the first routing device is optically connected to the second optical fiber portion of the second routing device.
