A user device, UE, for one or more wireless communication systems, includes one or more transceiver chains. The UE shares at least one transceiver chain with at least two connections to the one or more wireless communication systems. The UE is connected to one or more network entities, like a gNB or another UE, with the connections, and perform one or more operations on the connections at respective operation occasions. When the UE transmits or receives on a current one of the connections, it does not to transmit or receive on the other connections.

Enhanced multi-connection operations

In the field of wireless communication systems or networks, the design of resource pools as they may be used in sidelink communications among users of the wireless communication system, for example in V2X applications, is described. In particular, an improved resource pool design, for example for resource pools to be used in sidelink communications in V2X services in view of the advantages defined by the NR 5G standard, is presented.

NR V2X resource pool design

A user device, UE, for a wireless communication system is described. The wireless communication system has a plurality of user devices, UEs. The UE communicates with one or more further UEs using a sidelink, SL. To operate in a Discontinuous Reception, DRX, mode, the UE receives a DRX configuration from one of a plurality of DRX configuration sources. The plurality of DRX configuration sources are ranked such that each of the DRX configuration sources has a rank different from the remaining DRX configuration sources, and the UE is to select the DRX configuration from the DRX configuration source having the highest rank among the available DRX configuration sources.

NR sidelink discontinuous reception

A user device, UE, for a wireless communication system is described. The wireless communication system includes a plurality of user devices, UEs. The UE communicates with one or more transmitting UEs using a sidelink, supports a certain number of HARQ processes, and buffers one or more transmissions for each HARQ process. During a unicast communication with a transmitting UE using the sidelink, the UE receives from the transmitting UE a transmission during a transmission time interval, the transmission associated to control data, e.g. SCI, including a HARQ process ID, buffers the received transmission for the HARQ process, and combines the buffered transmissions prior to decoding. In case a successfully identified transmission is not buffered, the UE indicates to the transmitting UE that the transmission is not buffered at the UE.

V2X HARQ process management

A user equipment, UE, for a wireless communication network including one or more base stations, performs a transmission to a base station using a grant-free, GF, transmission scheme. The transmission being performed in accordance with a GF transmission configuration. The UE receives from the base station a certain signaling. The certain signaling indicates that the base station failed to identify the UE from the transmission. Responsive to the certain signaling from the base station, the UE retransmits the transmission in accordance with a GF retransmission configuration. The GF retransmission configuration is different from the GF transmission configuration.

ARQ/HARQ-related procedure for grant-free random access

An apparatus includes an antenna and a transceiver. The transceiver transmits a first signal via the antenna, the first signal including a unique identification of the apparatus and a request for receive information about the first signal at a receiver. The transceiver receives from the receiver a second signal via the antenna, the second signal including first information about a direction of arrival (DoA) of the first signal at the receiver and second information indicative of a location of the receiver.

Apparatus, system and method for improving position estimation and/or communication performance in a wireless communication network

Embodiments provide a transceiver, wherein the transceiver is configured to transmit or receive data in at least one transmission time interval on certain allocated resource elements of a wireless communication system, wherein the transceiver is configured to at least partially blank a transmission time interval for a data block to be transmitted or received by the transmitter, wherein the transceiver is configured (a) to signal to another transceiver a transmission grant in a blanked part of the at least partially blanked transmission time interval or (b) to at least partially blank the transmission time interval based on a blanking pattern received from another transceiver.

Sounding feedback utilizing shortened frame structures

A receiver is configured is configured to receive a data signal, the data signal having at least one data signal block, the data signal block having a predefined duration in the time domain, a number of symbols in the time domain and a bandwidth in the frequency domain, wherein the data signal block is received over a plurality of transmission intervals, wherein a length of one transmission interval is shorter than the duration of the data signal block so that a subset of the symbols of the data signal block is received over one transmission interval, and wherein the receiver includes a signal processing device configured to process the symbols of the data signal block which have been received over one transmission interval.

A first transceiver for a wireless communication system according to an embodiment is to determine information on an occupancy of a transmission channel. Moreover, the first transceiver is to transmit the information on the occupancy of the transmission channel to a second transceiver. User device and method with beam management enhancements

A receiver, e.g. an IoT device, receives and processes a radio signal. The radio signal has at least a first frequency band and a second frequency band. The first frequency band includes a first signal, the second frequency band includes a second signal, and each of the first signal and the second signal includes a plurality of frames, each frame having a plurality of subframes (M-subframe). One or more of the subframes of the first signal include connecting information allowing a receiver to establish a connection with a wireless communication system. All of the subframes of the second signal are free of any connecting information. The present invention concerns a novel form of communication within a cellular wireless communication network. One aspect of the invention concerns a User Equipment for a cellular network, wherein the UE inter alia includes a first interface for UE-to-Basestation communication configured to communicate with a base station of the cellular network and a second interface for UE-to-UE communication configured to communicate with one or more other UEs of a UE-Group to which the UE belongs. According to the invention the UE is configured to receive via its first interface configuration data for configuring its second interface, and to coordinate, via the second interface, a communication within the UE Group.

A wireless communication system includes one or more base stations, and a plurality of UEs for a sidelink communication using sidelink resources. The UEs includes a transmitting UE and a receiving UE using a subset of the sidelink resources of the wireless communication system. The receiving UE sends over the sidelink a sidelink feedback to the transmitting UE. The sidelink feedback indicates for a data transmission a successful or non-successful reception at the receiving UE. The transmitting UE reports the sidelink feedback to a base station. The base station provides to the transmitting UE, responsive to the sidelink feedback, sidelink resources for a possible retransmission of a data packet over the sidelink to the receiving UE. The reporting of the sidelink feedback to the base station by the transmitting UE is activated or deactivated responsive to one or more conditions.
