The spray dryer comprises a spray drying chamber having a substantially cylindrical top section, a conical wall and a narrowed lower section. In the top section, atomizing means is provided. One or more cameras are associated with the drying chamber in order to monitor the process. At least one of the cameras is an infrared camera adapted for measuring the temperature within a predefined area.

Method of monitoring a spray dryer and a spray dryer comprising one or more infrared cameras

In a spray drying apparatus, comprising in a usual manner a drying chamber, an air disperser, and at least one pressure nozzle arrangement (), means are provided for emptying the feed in the nozzle arrangement(s) () after the supply of feed from a feed system () is halted and before the nozzle arrangement(s) () are removed from the drying chamber and positioned in a cleaning system (). The emptying takes place while maintaining atomization in the nozzle arrangement (). The feed emptying system () comprises a pump (), a pressurized air/gas source () and a conduit (), and the spray drying apparatus at least one valve () allowing switching from the feed system () to the feed emptying system ().

Method for cleaning a nozzle arrangement in a spray drying apparatus, and spray drying apparatus for carrying out the method

A nozzle for cleaning-in-place of a vessel has a nozzle body to be connected to a wall of the vessel and defining an opening, a nozzle insert is contained within the nozzle body and is able to assume at least two distinct positions relative to the nozzle body, a first position in which the nozzle insert is retracted into the nozzle body and a second position in which the nozzle insert is advanced in the axial direction relative to the nozzle body and protrudes into the vessel. Apertures are exposed in the second position to allow distribution of a cleaning fluid. The nozzle insert has two nozzle insert parts, in mutual abutment in the first position and spaced from each other in a direction transverse to the axial direction in the second position to form a gap between adjacent nozzle insert parts, the apertures being exposed in the gap.

Pop-up nozzle, cleaning device and method of operation

A guard rail is provided with noise-reducing measures and includes a plurality of substantially vertical posts supporting a longitudinal guard rail beam. Furthermore the guard rail is provided with plate-shaped noise-reducing modules attached to the supporting, substantially vertical posts. Advantageously, the guard rail may be perforated so that the sound is allowed to pass into the noise-reducing modules at the rear.
