The present disclosure involves systems, software, and computer implemented methods for ensuring seamless lifecycle stability for extensions to standard software products. One example method includes determining a requested change to a software feature of a software object. The software feature has been designated as an extensible software feature and is associated with a lifecycle stability contract that identifies aspects of the extensible software feature that are designated to remain stable across different releases of the software object. The lifecycle stability contract is used to perform a compatibility check for the requested change to determine whether the requested change complies with the lifecycle stability contract. The requested change is permitted in response to determining that the requested change complies with the lifecycle stability contract and the requested change is denied in response to determining that the requested change violates the lifecycle stability contract.

Seamless lifecycle stability for extensible software features

A method of extending the functionality of an enterprise software suite is disclosed. A request is received from a client system to modify a programming object on a productive system deployed in the cloud environment. A logical unit of programming objects is identified on the productive system, the logical unit including the programming object. Copies of each of the programming objects in the logical unit of programming objects are created in a sandbox of a combined development and test system deployed in the cloud environment, the copies including a copy of the programming object. The copy of the programming object is modified in the sandbox. A result of the modifying of the copy of the programming object in the sandbox is communicated for presentation in a client system without modifying the programming object on the productive system.

Sandboxing for custom logic

Software extensions for applications of an enterprise system may be developed in a test system. An adaptation transport module accesses, in the test system, a collection of adaptation objects where each adaptation object includes a semantic representation of a software extension for an application of an enterprise system and at least one associated software object. The transport module processes the collection by: generating staging data based on a type of each adaptation object; exporting the collection from the test system; performing checks on each adaptation object based on the staging data; and importing the collection to the enterprise system. The transport module installs each of the software extensions on the application, using the at least one associated software object for each, based on the results of the checks of each respective adaptation object. The staging data may be written to a file in a common directory shared by both systems.

Checks for software extensions

Adaptation objects comprising software extensions for applications of an enterprise system may be developed in a test system. Dependency data for an adaptation object may be generated based on a reference, in the adaptation object, to at least one other adaptation object in the test system. If the adaptation object is assigned to a collection of adaptation objects for export to the enterprise system then checks are performed on the adaptation object based on the dependency data. One check may be for determining whether the at least one other adaptation object is: part of the collection or has already been exported and is unchanged since last being exported. If this check is failed a user interface is provided for: adding a latest version of the at least one adaptation object to the collection; or removing the reference to the at least one other adaptation object from the adaptation object.

Dependency handling for software extensions

Software extensions for applications of an enterprise system may be developed in a test system. An adaptation transport module displays, in a test system, a plurality of semantic representations of software extension components for an application of an enterprise system. A semantic representation of a software extension for the application is generated based on a user selection of a combination of the semantic representations of software extension components. An adaptation object comprising the semantic representation of the software extension and at least one associated software object is generated by identifying the associated software object(s) based on an adaptation type of the adaptation object. The adaptation transport module displays, in the enterprise system, the semantic representation of the software extension (or of a collection including the software extension) and the adaptation object is imported to the enterprise system based on a user selection of the semantic representation of the software extension.

Embodiments consistent with the present invention relate to methods and systems for verifying data of an application system. Consistent with exemplary embodiments, such methods and systems may send a message including data copied from a first data set processed by a first processing component and then store outbound messaging data describing the sent message. A second processing component may receive the sent message and store inbound messaging data describing the received message. The methods and systems may then verify a consistency of the data of the first and second processing components according to a comparison of the outbound and inbound messaging data.

Embodiments consistent with the present invention relate to methods and systems for verifying data or data communication operations of an application system. Consistent with exemplary embodiments, such methods and systems may verify a data communication operation by an application system. The methods and systems may, for example, communicate a message including data copied from a first data set and store messaging data describing the communicated message. As described, the methods and systems may then verify the communication of the message based on the first data set and the stored messaging data.

Systems and methods for verifying a data communication process

A method and system for graphical analysis to detect anomalies in process objects. The method generates a graph to represent a set of process objects, applies a clustering algorithm to cluster like nodes of the graph, compares the clusters to the process objects, and, if the objects match the clusters, accepts the objects for further review or for use in applications. If one or more of the objects do not match the clusters, such suggests that there are anomalies in the process objects requiring correction. An example implementation may be to detect anomalies in the design of the process objects.

A method and system to evaluate process objects for acceptability for use. New metrics that measure both object components and their relationships are used. The method selects metrics for the process objects that measure both the components and their relationships, compares measurements of the selected metrics with corresponding metric norms, and, based on the comparison, determines whether the process objects are acceptable. The system includes a memory to store metrics and process objects and a processor to select applicable metrics for the process objects, calculate the measurements of the selected metrics, compare the measurements to corresponding metric norms, and, based on the comparison, determine whether the process objects are acceptable.

A system of a plurality of interconnectable nodes for modelling states; wherein one predetermined node is configured to act as a master node, the master node being configured to instantiate a state by creating the state and distributing the created state to at least one of the nodes, the master node being further configured to modify a state by changing the state and distributing the changed state to at least one of the nodes, the master node being further configured to maintain an indication of 'owner of process' assigned to exactly one of the interconnectable nodes at a time; wherein a first node not being the master node but being indicated as 'owner of process', is configured to cause the master node to instantiate a state or to modify a state; wherein the first node is further configured upon receiving a request for instantiating or modifying a state from a second node to decide whether or not to accept the request of the second node and to cause the master node to instantiate a state and to modify a state, such that the first node needs not to be connected at the time the second node is sending the request to perform a state change.

System for modeling a process

Embodiments consistent with the present invention relate to methods and systems for verifying data of an application system. Consistent with exemplary embodiments, the method may generate a first business object and generate a second business object from the data related to the first business object. The method may then access metadata defining content included in the first and second business objects. The method may then verify a consistency of data in the first and second business objects according to a comparison of the first and second business objects based on the accessed metadata.
