An energy storage system includes a vessel for storing water, an energy conversion device, and a connection line connecting the vessel with the energy conversion device. The energy conversion device includes first and second housings, a pump turbine in the first housing, and a motor generator in the second housing. The pump turbine includes a first shaft and an impeller mounted on the first shaft. The motor generator includes a second shaft and a rotor at the second shaft for rotating relative to a stator. The second shaft is coupled to the first shaft for transmitting torque between the first and second shafts. The connecting line connects a low pressure opening with an opening for receiving water or discharging water. The second housing is filled with a gas for a barrier pressure during operation of the energy conversion device, such that the rotor rotates within the gas.

Energy storage system

An energy storage system includes a vessel, an energy conversion device, and a connection line connecting the vessel with the energy conversion device. The energy conversion device includes a housing, a pump turbine, and a motor generator. The pump turbine includes a first shaft, and an impeller. The motor generator includes a second shaft, and a rotor. The second shaft is coupled to the first shaft to transmit torque between the first shaft and the second shaft. The connection line connects a low pressure opening with an opening disposed at the vessel to receive water from the vessel or discharge water into the vessel. The connection line includes a switching unit with a shut-off device and a non-return device connected in parallel, the non-return device enabling flow of the water only in a first direction from the vessel to the low pressure opening.

A process fluid lubricated pump includes a housing with an inlet to receive the fluid, and an outlet to discharge the fluid, a shaft extending from a drive end to a non-drive end and rotatable about an axial direction, the drive end of the shaft arranged outside the housing, a hydraulic unit including impellers mounted on the shaft, a collection chamber to collect leaking process fluid, the collection chamber comprising an exit, through which the shaft passes, and an exit to discharge the process fluid, and a throttle device arranged between the hydraulic unit and the collection chamber, the throttle device comprising a stationary throttle part having first and second axial faces delimiting the stationary throttle part, the first axial face facing the collection chamber, and the throttle device including a throttle gap surrounding the shaft and extending from the first axial face to the second axial face.

Process fluid lubricated pump and pumping system

A rotary pump for conveying a fluid, includes a pump housing, a pump shaft, a hydraulic unit, a mechanical seal, and a stator. The hydraulic unit conveys and pressurizes the fluid, includes an impeller fixedly mounted on the pump shaft, and during operation generates an axial thrust to act on the pump shaft. The mechanical seal seals the pump shaft and includes a rotor connected to the pump shaft in a torque proof manner. The stator is stationary with respect to the pump housing. The mechanical seal is arranged between the hydraulic unit and an end of the pump shaft, and is a balancing device configured to generate an axial force on the pump shaft during operation, with the axial force configured to counteract the axial thrust.

Rotary pump for conveying a fluid

A rotary pump includes a balance drum connected to a pump shaft between a hydraulic unit and the pump shaft, an axial relief passage between a balance drum and a stationary part stationary relative to a pump housing, and a balancing device arranged between the balance drum and the hydraulic unit, the balancing device including a ring-shaped rotary part connected to the pump shaft, and a ring-shaped non-rotary part movable only in the axial direction, the rotary part having an axial face facing the hydraulic unit, the rotary part and the non-rotary part overlap in a radial direction, which is perpendicular to the axial direction, and the non-rotary part movable in the axial direction such that a radial relief passage is open during operation of the pump, with the radial relief passage extending in the radial direction between the rotary part and the non-rotary part.

A multiphase pump for conveying a multiphase process fluid includes a pump housing, a stationary diffuser, a rotor and swirl brake. The rotor is arranged in the pump housing and is rotatable about an axial direction, the rotor including a pump shaft and an impeller fixedly mounted on the pump shaft. The stationary diffuser is arranged adjacent to and downstream of the impeller. The impeller includes a blade with the blade having a radially outer tip, and a ring surrounding the impeller and arranged at the radially outer tip of the blade. A passage is between the ring and a stationary part configured to be stationary with respect to the pump housing, the passage extending in the axial direction from an entrance to a discharge. The swirl brake is disposed at the passage, and configured and arranged to brake swirling of the process fluid passing through the passage.

Multiphase pump

A process fluid lubricated pump includes a pump having a pump shaft extending from a drive end to a non-drive end, first and last stage impellers, a drive unit exerting torque on the drive end to rotate the pump shaft, a balance drum connected to the pump shaft between the pump and the drive end, the balance drum defining a drum front side facing the pump and a drum back side, a relief passage between the balance drum and a first stationary part configured to be stationary with respect to a housing, the relief passage extending from the drum front side to the drum back side, the pump shaft radially supported in a non-contacting manner during operation of the pump, and a hydrodynamic radial pump bearing supporting the pump shaft, the radial pump bearing arranged at the non-drive end or at the drive end of the pump shaft.

Process fluid lubricated pump

A pump for conveying a fluid includes a stationary housing, an impeller conveying the fluid from a low pressure region to a high pressure region, a shaft to rotate the impeller about an axial direction, and a separation device to restrict a flow of the fluid from the high pressure region to the low pressure region. The separation device includes a rotary part connected to the shaft, and a stationary part stationary with respect to the housing. The rotary and stationary parts face each other and delimit a gap between the stationary part and the rotary part. The gap is arranged between the high and low pressure regions. A recess is disposed in the stationary part or the rotary part, the recess including a bottom, and a non-metallic insert is disposed in the recess. A relief channel enables fluid communication between the bottom and the low pressure region.

Pump for conveying a fluid

A multiphase pump for conveying a multiphase process fluid includes a pump housing, a rotor and a radial bearing. The rotor is arranged in the pump housing and is configured to rotate about an axial direction. The radial bearing has a support carrier and a support structure to support the rotor with respect to a radial direction. The rotor includes a pump shaft and an impeller fixedly mounted on the pump shaft to convey the process fluid from a pump inlet to a pump outlet. A squeeze film damper is provided to reduce vibrations of the rotor, the squeeze film damper arranged around the support structure of the radial bearing, and having an radially outer surface. A damping gap is arranged between the support structure of the radial bearing and the radially outer surface of the squeeze film damper. The damping gap is configured to receive a damping fluid.

A centrifugal pump for conveying a fluid includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet for the fluid. An impeller is arranged in the housing for rotation in an axial direction to convey the fluid from the inlet to the outlet, a shaft extends in the axial direction for driving the impeller, and a stationary guide device for guiding the fluid from the impeller to the outlet is connected to the housing. A resilient compensating element is disposed between the housing and the guide device, is arranged around the shaft, and holds the guide device in a centered position to the impeller during a radial relative movement to the housing.

Centrifugal pump for conveying a fluid

A pump casing for a centrifugal pump has a first housing part, a second housing part sealingly attached to the first housing part, a plurality of securing elements for linking the first and the second housing part, and a radial sealing element for sealing between the first and the second housing parts, the first housing part has a first axial end surface, and the second housing part has a second axial end surface, the first and second axial end surfaces facing each other, and the first axial end surface includes an annular protrusion extending in the axial direction and the second axial end surface includes an annular recess configured for engaging with the annular protrusion, the annular protrusion arranged radially inwardly with respect to the securing elements.

Pump casing for a centrifugal pump and centrifugal pump

A sealing arrangement for sealing a pressure chamber in a high pressure pump which is bound by a first and a second bounding element, includes a separate sealing element which has a first sealing surface for co-operating with the first bounding element, as well as having a second sealing surface for cooperating with the second bounding element. The two sealing surfaces are inclined with respect to one another and each have a groove for receiving a sealing ring. The sealing element is arranged in such a way that it can be displaced totally along one of the bounding elements on the application of pressure.

Seal arrangement for a high-pressure pump and high-pressure pump having such a seal arrangement

An axially split pump for a fluid includes an axially split housing with a bottom and a cover, a rotatable shaft, and a side cover. The side cover has a first surface for cooperating with a second surface. The second surface extends over the bottom and the cover. The bottom has a first sealing surface and the cover has a second sealing surface. The bottom and the cover can be fastened so that the sealing surfaces are in direct contact. One sealing groove is in one of the sealing surfaces for the reception of a string-like sealing element, the sealing groove extending up to the second surface. A recess surrounding the shaft is in the second surface and a projection surrounding the shaft is in the first surface. The recess and the projection are arranged so that they form a ring-like groove for the reception of a ring-like sealing element.

Axially split pump

A pump includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet configured to convey fluid, an impeller configured to convey the fluid from the inlet to the outlet, the impeller being arranged on a rotatable shaft, and a balance drum configured to relieve axial thrust. The balance drum includes a rotor rotationally fixedly connected to the shaft, the rotor having a high and low pressure sides, a stator stationary with respect to the housing, a relief passage extending between the rotor and the stator from the high pressure side up to the low pressure side of the rotor, a return passage connecting the low pressure side of the rotor to the inlet. An intermediate passage opens into the relief passage between the high pressure side and the low pressure side of the rotor. A blocking member is configured to influence the flow through the intermediate passage.

Pump for the conveyance of a fluid with varying viscosity

Disclosed is a pump having a pump rotor rotatably supported about an axis of rotation in a pump stator. In this respect, the pump rotor is designed and is arranged above a rotor shaft in a shaft bearing such that a lubricating film of a lubricating fluid formed from the pump fluid can be formed in a lubricating ring gap between the rotor shaft and the shaft bearing. In accordance with the invention, a separation device is provided at the rotor shaft by which a predefinable quantity of the ingredient can be separated from the pump fluid by means of a centrifugal force in the operating state for providing the lubricating fluid.
