Floating nut anchor for concrete construction

A method of making a cast concrete panel with coarse aggregate exposed on its upper face as cast comprising the steps of pouring and compacting wet concrete having a coarse aggregate content into a casting bed, leveling the upper surface of the concrete to the desired height by means that includes the passage thereover of a screed roller rotating in a direction to push excess surface concrete in advance of the screed roller, lifting coarse aggregate towards the upper surface of the concrete in advance of the screed roller by passing the free ends of rotating aggregate lifter arms through the concrete, the aggregate lifter-arms being spaced apart a distance to support coarse aggregate therebetween, whereby to lift and concentrate coarse aggregate in the wet concrete towards the surface, and to deposit a high concentration of coarse aggregate in front of said screed roller, said aggregate lifter arms being mounted radially of a rotating shaft that rotates in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of the screed roller, compacting the concentrated coarse aggregate to leave cement and fine aggregate as an overlay to the compacted coarse aggregate by the passage over the surface layer of a compacting roller that is rotated in the opposite direction to the screed roller with respect to the direction of travel of roller rotation along the casting bed to compact coarse aggregate and deposit cement and fine aggregate as an overlay as aforesaid, permitting the body of the concrete to cure, and exposing the coarse aggregate on the upper face by removing cement and fine aggregate from between the coarse aggregate to expose the coarse aggregate on the flat upper surface of the panel as cast.

Method of exposing aggregate in a poured concrete panel

An improved building panel erection bracket includes a panel lifting plate which is rotatable and retractable. The panel erection bracket permits a building panel to be fixed into the final position thereof before the erection bracket is detached from the panel.

A movable insulation puncher includes lancing elements which are used to define slots for receiving shear connectors in a multi-layer panel. The lancing elements are heated by gas burners and are moved along a panel on a carriage, and toward a panel by a crank assembly. Return to a neutral position of the lancing elements is spring assisted, and the carriage can be used to store tools, or to support a workman.

Movable insulation puncher

An attachment for attaching a precast concrete wall panel to a building in a manner which permits vertical movement of that wall panel relative to building structural elements. In one embodiment, the attachment includes inserts embedded in the wall panel near the top and bottom edges of the upright wall panel, a tongue element connecting the top inserts to a building beam, or the like, and a clamp attached to the bottom inserts to connect those inserts to a building foundation. The inserts have slots defined therein in which portions of the tongue and clamp are located to permit the wall panel and building to move vertically with respect to each other.

Attachment for mounting concrete wall panels on a building

A reinforced insulated concrete building panel has an inner layer of concrete and an outer layer of concrete, with a layer of insulating material sandwiched therebetween. Shear connectors are embedded in the layer of concrete and extend from the outer layer through the layer of insulation and into the inner layer to prevent delamination of the panel during handling. The shear connectors have projecting portions defining a depth gauge to indicate when the connector has been inserted a proper distance into the panel during construction of the panel. The method of constructing the panel comprises the steps of casting one of the layers of concrete and immediately thereafter placing the layer of insulation thereover and then inserting the shear connectors through the insulation and into the cast layer of concrete until the depth gauge portion of the shear connectors engage the insulation, thereby accurately positioning the shear connectors, and thereafter casting a second layer of concrete on top of the layer of insulation.

Reinforced insulated concrete building panel

A device for lifting large concrete panels. The device includes gripping jaws pivotally attached to a main lifting beam to transmit lifting forces to the panel being hoisted in a manner which will not crush or otherwise damage the panel. The device is amenable to adjustment for providing the most expeditious lifting technique.
