A coupling device for connecting a handle part and a tool part includes a plug and a socket. The plug has a main portion, an end portion, and a notched portion between the main portion and the end portion. The socket has a proximal base end, a body portion, and a locking member. The body portion extends from the base end and has an axial, plug receiving bore that opens through a distal end of the body portion. The locking member is positioned between the base end and the plug receiving bore. The locking member includes a leaf spring cantilevered axially on one side of the body portion of the socket. The leaf spring supports a latch bar that engages the notched portion of the plug when the plug is inserted through the open end of the plug receiving bore. The latch bar is spaced from the leaf spring so that the end portion of the plug passes between the latch bar and the leaf spring when the plug is inserted through the open end of the plug receiving bore. The latch bar is released from the notched portion of the plug when the leaf spring is depressed inwardly from the one side of the socket body.

Snap-in handle assembly for a tool

The invention includes a tool holder for at least one tool having a working end and a handle. The tool holder comprises a gripping device for the handle of the at least one tool, a base for supporting the working end of the at least one tool, and a substantially vertical structural support connected to the gripping device and the base for supporting the gripping device vertically upward from the base. The base includes an irregular surface for contacting an edge of the working end of the at least one tool, thereby restricting movement of the working end of the at least one tool along the base.

A reinforced implement such as a shovel is described having increased strength and resistance to deformation and/or fracture, especially in the area where the socket engaging the handle and blade are joined. Advantageously, the blade, socket, and reinforcement are formed from a single unitary piece of material having essentially uniform thickness.

A reel apparatus for storing a flexible member, such as cable or hose, includes a frame assembly, a drum mounted on the frame assembly, a driving shaft coupled to the drum, and a handle mounted on the driving shaft for manually controlling rotation of the drum. The drum may be aligned vertically or horizontally. The apparatus includes means for maintaining the flexible member in substantially taut coiled form along the drum.

Hose reel apparatus

A reversing valve for a vapor compression refrigeration system comprising a housing defining a chamber with a high pressure port, a low pressure port and first and second system ports opening into said chamber through a chamber wall; a valve member disposed in the housing for shifting movement generally parallel to the wall between a first position wherein the valve member communicates the low pressure port with the first system port while communicating the high pressure port with the second system port and a second position wherein the valve member communicates the low pressure port with the second system port while communicating the high pressure port with the first system port, the valve member blocking communication between the high and low pressure ports when in the first and second positions; the valve member subjected to a net differential pressure force acting to firmly seat the valve member in the first or second position for preventing leakage between the high pressure port and the low pressure port; and, an actuator for reversing the direction of the net differential pressure force acting on the valve member to unseat the valve member and move it away from its first or second position for facilitating the shifting movement to the other position.

Hose reel casing

A refrigeration system including a flow control expansion valve. A valve body defines a valve inlet for accepting refrigerant and a valve outlet for delivering refrigerant that has passed through the valve body. A metering head defines first and second passageways for fluid passing through the valve body. A cylindrical sleeve is mounted for controlled movement within the valve body and including a center passageway which in combination with the first and second passageways conveys fluid through the valve body to the valve outlet. A spring urges the sleeve in a direction relative the metering head to maintain both the first and second passageways in fluid communication with the center passageway of the sleeve. A valve actuator mounted to the valve body moves the sleeve against the biasing action of the spring to restrict flow through one passageway of the first and second passageways while allowing fluid to flow through another of the first and second passageways and said center passageway of said sleeve to the outlet. The valve actuator includes a control input responsive to an external control signal to initiate movement of the sleeve to a position for restricting flow through said one passageway.

A temperature sensing assembly for a heat exchanger flow tube comprises a housing having a thin heat transmitting wall section in heat conducting engagement with a flow tube, and a relatively thick, heat insulating structural support wall section; a thermally responsive signal producing assembly comprising an electrical signal producing element in heat transfer relationship with the heat transmitting wall section; a heat transfer element between the housing and heat exchanger flow tube tending to maintain the flow tube and heat insulating wall section temperatures the same; and an insulating jacket surrounding part of the heat transfer element.
