A multi-function ladder having a front section having a first front rail and. a rear section. The ladder having a first hinge attached to the first front rail and the first rear rail. The ladder having a second hinge attached to the second front rail and the second rear rail. Each hinge having a locked state and an unlocked state. The ladder having an actuator directly attached to the front section and remote and separate and apart from the first hinge and the second hinge. When the first and second hinges are in the unlocked state, the rear section can be moved between a leaning ladder mode, a step ladder mode, a stairway ladder mode and a straight ladder mode upon which each hinge goes into the locked state in the desired ladder mode.

A strand grab for a ladder having a hook assembly, a gate assembly engaged with the hook assembly and a biasing spring. The biasing spring produces a return biasing force which is less than a weight force of the ladder when the hook assembly rests on the strand allowing the gate assembly to close with the hook assembly and squeeze the strand between the gate assembly and the hook assembly in a closed position and hold the ladder in place with the strand. A stepladder includes a front section having a first front leg and a second front leg. The stepladder includes a step attached to the first front leg and the second front leg. The stepladder includes a latch engaged with the step. The stepladder includes a rear section having a first rear leg and a second rear leg and a cross bar attached to the first rear leg and the second rear leg. The rear section is pivotably attached to the front section. The rear section has a first stud which extends from the first rear leg toward the second rear leg and separate and apart and not in contact with the second rear leg and not in contact with the cross bar. The latch is engaged with and latched to the first stud to define an engaged position where the first front leg and the first rear leg are in an open position and form an inverted v shape and are prevented from folding together, and the latch when pulled up from the engaged position, disengages from the first stud and allows the front section and rear section to fold together into a closed position where the first rear leg and the first front leg are in parallel. Apparatus with platform and latch

A ceiling ladder having a plurality of sections that can be climbed by a user when in an unfolded position into an attic and that can be folded together into a retracted position to be stored above the ceiling. The ladder has a deep step, which has a width greater than the width of other steps of the ladder, in which is located between about 2-5 feet from the floor when the ladder is in the unfolded position so that a user can stand on the deep step and place objects into the attic without having to climb into the attic.

An extension ladder having a base section and a fly section. The fly section has a right local reinforcement disposed inside a right fly rail of the fly section at locations of highest bending moment of the right fly rail when a force is applied to the right fly rail. The right local reinforcement is shorter than a length of the right fly rail. Loads applied to the right fly rail are transmitted to the right local reinforcement so the right fly rail may be thinner than if there was no right local reinforcement present. A latch assembly for use in a storage container is provided, and comprises a bracket having a body, a first side, and a second side, the bracket being releasably secured to the first or the second body component of the storage container. The first side includes a protruding segment. The body includes at least one slot positioned thereon, the bracket being secured to the storage container via a fastener inserted through the at least one slot. The latch assembly also includes a handle secured to the bracket. When the handle is moved in a first direction, the bracket moves from a latched position to an unlatched position where the protruding segment passes through a lock box assembly, and when the handle is moved in a second direction, the bracket moves from an unlatched position to a latched position where the lock box assembly blocks movement of the protruding segment. The latch assembly is used in conjunction with a lock system.

Storage box latch system and security features

A work scaffold having a platform and leg assemblies rotatably attached to each end of the platform. The platform may have a handle connected to free end that extends out the sides of the platform, which engage with links attached to the leg assemblies and the platform to lock the scaffold in an open or closed position. The platform may have hooks that extend out beyond the ends of the platform from under the platform so a second work scaffold can be situated on the hooks.
